Not really: in Ashley's analogy, humanity was the dog.
Would you seriously save the asari over humanity?

These directly contradict. My child is an asari. What now?Would you save your own child over a random other person? Yes.
Would you save your own species over a random other species? Yes.

The flaw in your thinking is that non-human animals do what you say from instinct, humans can rationalize. Other than that, this is turning into another
Instinct or not, it's the only way to survive. Without that instinct, life wouldn't have existed as it does today. Without that instinct, humans would never ever have evolved.

Not only would I not save them, but if I saw a way to make sure that in the post-Reaper galaxy, the Asari would be severely weakened, I'd most likely take it.

Kind of a moot point since we don't know if Liara is "pregnant".

You would probably wan't to save your own child and her mother. But how does that relate to the rest of the asari race? It doesn't.
Next to your asari daughter and wife, I'm 100% you would (should) save humanity over the asari.

But I'd let the Asari burn first. The galaxy would be better off with less "mind over matter."

Hell yes. They are, tech-wise, millennias closer to ascension than us, and I think they have more to add to the galaxy.
The only thing they added to the galaxy was evolving first.
Nay.
Yay.

Would any asari save humanity at the cost of the asari race?

Exactly. If you don't stop the reapers, it really doesn't matter.

This is a a good point. I would sacrifice humanity to stop the Reapers.
As you said, they'd just die anyway.

technically they're not your children. They use your DNA to randomize their own. If I understand their reproduction that is.Xilizhra wrote...
Asari have a higher population than humans. The math isn't tremendously difficult.
In any case, my children will be asari, so I'm using the same progeny argument as a lot of you.
