Yes...because it's not believable

Nah,we've never been seen to be a capable bunch have we...with all these other sapient life forms we have encountered.

Even though in reality the asari are the mary-sue of the universe.

It's funny who people think the "mary-sues" are. For the liberals, it's the asari. For the conservatives, it's the turians or humans. For the teapartiers, it's the krogan.  And for the scientologists it's the hanar.

Asari are my bros. Or sis. Whatever.

Not too sure if I would save them or humans...Hanar are my fave, so if it was a choice between them and humans, well the humans gotta go.

I don't think this has anything to do with conservatives or liberals (For example, I prefer the asari culture).

But...
Salarians seem to be great scientists.
Humans are obviously better (medigel, carriers...)

Turians are militaristic. They have centuries of experience in shipbuilding.
Who won the first contact war? The alliance...

Asari are great diplomats. They possess the largest single economy in the galaxy.
Udina creates an all-human council and the asari...do nothing.

I could be a traitor and a fool then... maybe... depending on circumstances... For example...

Lets say the reapers aren't trying to wipe us out and process us into new reapers anymore
but instead they have dedided that we will be their new puppets, new collectors... And since
the war against the reapers is going really bad, people have lost hope and decided that
continued existence in perpetual slavery as practically mindless automatons is better
than extinction and have "allied" them selves with the reapers...

I might choose asari or... over humanity...

Someone has to end the cycle of destruction tho. For what it's worth I would never abandon Humanity. Humanity IMO are the only race that can end this neverending cycle of obliteration.

Asari are the fan-service mary-sure "perfect" race from where I stand.
I DESPISE the very concept of asari.

Which is why it's "common sense" to save them over humanity. Addendum: "Common sense" is surprisingly rare.

Humanity IMO are the only race that can end this neverending cycle of obliteration.

Regardless of the truth of that statement the original question only makes sense if one assumes that the question is whether one would save humanity or the asari if the Reapers can be defeated by sacrificing either species.

Edit to add: Saving the species is distinct from utilising their military assets to fight the Reapers. A fleet can be rebuilt, but I rather doubt that a civilisation could recover from the loss of their home planet.

Turians(The best military)
Salarians (The best scientists)
Asari (The largest economy)

What humans are good at?? Polluting, poverty, an unmotivated ego of feeling the best. If someone gotta go then better the humans because honestly we ain't so great....a greedy trouble-making race

EDIT

You are considering this from the wrong perspective. The whole asari concept, but also the ones of the salarians are there to show you how inferior and barbaric humanity still is in relation to the other races. Just see the concept of Cerberus, Terra Firma and other pro-human bull****s exporting racism and tensions throught the galaxy.

Maybe, but those are all specialties, whereas humans are "jacks of all trades".

Humans are more aggresive than Salarians, more flexible than Turians, more driven than Asari, and more reasonable than Krogan. Apparently we're more creative than any of them, based on descriptions and other hints throughout the games. Apparently the combination of these human traits has allowed us to rise in power faster than most other species. You would condemn your own species for its virtue.

That makes humanity the Mary Sue race of Mass Effect...one of the main reasons why saving earth has low priority for me.

It seems to me that they are less 'Mary Sue' and more 'Only ones who bother to improve'. The galactic civilizations as a whole were the same since the Citadel races were united. Humans changed from stabbing eachother with swords to space faring ina n Asari lifetime. In all logic, the more advanced you are, the faster your rate of advancement. The aliens would have none of that "instability".

Turians have the best fleet.
Salarians have the best scientists.
Asari have the best economy.

And human? We humans are the best problem-solvers and decision makers!

What do we need the most against the reapers? THE PROBLEM-SOLVERS AND DECISION-MAKERS! Yeah!

Why do people keep bringing up saving the Asari homeworld? Did bioware say they are being attacked too?

They said that basically every window you look out you'll see Reapers. So that means that every main world we go to is going to be attacked by the Reapers.

Its not just the Earth being attacked its everyone.

It's mostly there to give a practical form to an otherwise abastract debate on prioritizing species against the Reapers.

It has been confirmed that we will be seeing Thessia, though.

Sacrifices will have to be made by all. Some races may become extinct. It's a matter of who has the economy, military, and science that will win this conflict. Humans will provide the screw ups to keep the Reapers off base. Everyone is going to lose. Earth may go bye bye. If we have to abandon it to the Reapers, nuke the planet to ash. There are humans elsewhere in the galaxy. Asari will die, Turians will die, Salarians will die, etc.

It's a matter of how many reapers there are. All the forces can do is fight a delaying action with a flex defense that gives but doesn't break, until we complete the Deus Ex Machina.

Since the war really had no winner, the only way to decide who "won" is by casualties, and by casualties the Alliance won.

Actually, at the start of ME3 Earth is the only place attacked besides the batarians.
