@ swk3000 - Since this version appears to be wrapping up soon, I recommend an Archer/ DW version for the versatility. Being able to fire at range, then change to melee if needed or desired was quite enjoyable.

While I did miss the quick-switch feature of DAO, being able to Backstab for repositioning was a decent option; much like the varied methods recommended for avoiding Assassins. And while I leaned far more on the Archer part of the build, perhaps those more experiended with DW might prefer that as their major choice.

I utilized the Assassin/ Duelist for my options; just the specialty choice for the latter bonus. And between Assassination, Back to Back, Backstab, Miasma Flask, etc, getting out of harm's way helped make this class design rather memorable.

That's actually about what I figured. Just wanted to confirm.

I appreciate everyone being patient with me, and for all the help you've given. I think I've got a pretty good handle on the Rogue class now. I won't guarantee there won't be any other questions, but I think I'll be okay for the most part. Thanks for all the help.

no problem buddy, have fun!

thendcomes I have just the main game with the black emporium dlc. Money's not a problem, because i'm doing the money cheat. Just wanted to know what equipment my hawke should be wearing end game.

What money cheat? I've tried enabling the console, but it won't work. I downloaded the game from the Gamestop website if that makes any difference.

It seems as though there's quite a bit of talk of which is better as far as equipment goes. With Item Pack 2 out now, what is the best overall armor/weapon/accessories for end game do you think? Thanks,

Glad to know I'm not offending anybody. Also, I have yet another question. How has the Rogue Pack 2 affected best end-game equipment? Or has it? I can see the Arms of Mac Tir being pretty good (+13% Crit Chance, +16% Crit Damage), and the Path of the Wilds boots, while not carrying the incredible +21% Crit Damage of the Stealth Boots, do have a higher Crit Chance and Immunity to Stun.

I'm sorry for all the questions; as I said, I want to be as effective as possible, and would prefer to get outside input to make sure I'm not failing to see something.

As of right now, the best rogue armor pieces are:

Helmet: Jasmine Cutty's Wrap (item pack 1)
Chestpiece: Arms of Mac Tir
Gloves: Gloves of the Champion
Boots: Stealth Boots

Path of the Wilds are a pretty decent pair of boots, but they are nowhere near as good as Stealth Boots. They are better than Boots of the Champion though.
I guess Immunity to stun could be useful for fighting enemies like High Dragon, where stun is guaranteed, if you are fighting in close combat. But other than that, Steath Boots are still the way to go.

The equipment listed in the post I just quoted all gives large bonuses to Crit Chance and Crit Damage. For a DW Rogue, your damage end-game should all come from Crits, so massive bonuses to Crit Damage are what you want.

There some type of sell glitch you can use on 360 with inventory you can buy thats unlimited. Look on youtube i think there's a video there that shows you how to do it. I found out there was a glitch buy responding to one of Mr Afk video's on his youtube page. When i noticed he had 800 gold in his inventory.

Sadysm I don't know if it's only on 360. I just happen to only own 360 for gaming.

I don't see why it would be only 360.
if you have a 'sell all junk' shortcut on the sell menu you should be able to do it. All you do is sell-all junk at the same time as selling a junk item - basically double selling it.
The best way for this to work (only real way to make lots of money) is to use maker's sighs from the black emporium.
What you do is buy as many as you can (minimum 2). Go to your item screen and chuck the maker sigh's into the junk. Go into the sell menu and sell them (double sell if you want), then buy back all but one. This allows the duplication of items such that when you double sell back the number of junk maker's sighs will increase. Eventually you'll hit 999 maker's sighs where you make ~100+ gold each double sell. On xbox this is a bit of a pain because it takes a while for the 999 potions to be selected, so i would recommend doing something else at the same time haha.
Just do several rounds and get however much money you want and then you're set. :D

Also note that I have done ~5-6 playthroughs without using this glitch- it's mainly for convenience when running experimental builds/concepts through. Just trying to retain my reputation :P

The double selling was a pre-patch glitch that was on console only not on pc.

Is that glitch still in the game with the patches?

Yes on console it is. Just wish I knew about it earlier. I've played through the game 3 times on nightmare and just found out about it by noticing that there's no way you can have 800 plus gold before the Arishok fight.

BTW thanks go out to Mr. AFK. If I didn't see you youtube video I proably wouldn't have beaten the Arishok in that duel. Even after watching your video and setting my rogue up the same way you did without the dlc. He was still hell to beat. It took me at least 20 times to finally beat him.

I use that glitch all the time, I like being able to get all the optimum gear :P
Although it took me about 30 minutes to be able to consistently do it, 'twas very annoying spending ages selecting 999 potions and then not getting the timing right.

New question: are there any items a Rogue can wear that boost Spirit Damage by an appreciable amount? I just realized that the Immunities I've been worrying about only apply on Nightmare. Since I'm on Normal, there are no immunities. I'm planning on using the Bard's Honor/Shadow Claw combo, and would like to boost my damage if I can. I doubt there's much of anything that boosts Spirit Damage, though, since it already halves resistances on it's own, but I thought I'd ask.

There are generic clothing (robes, boots) and amulets which you can get from the mage stores in the gallows which will allow an early game spirit setup if you so wished.
In act 2 there are some unique spirit gear (ring of ruin etc) from trinkets in lowtown and I think some amulet from hightown. I think you may get access to some gloves with spirit damage in act 2 but may be wrong. In act 3 you can get the boots of the void (if you made a deal with torpor).

However, in general it will be better to equip rogue gear, especially if you have the dlc gear. It's a simple matter of trying to increase crit chance (and crit damage) for the first few acts, and by the last act all the properties of unique high-end armour will be considerably better than generic robes anyhow (definitely not worth the investment into magic anyway).
And in terms of accessories no elemental damage accessory comes close to the critical chance/damage ones (with maybe the exception of smite from legacy).

But yeah, there's not much need to boost elemental damage for a rogue. It's already ridiculously overpowered enough as it is. :P

There's a listing of unique spirit gear in the thread in my sig. The only unique that is better than a generic is Smite found in Legacy. The armor should be rogue stuff - Jasmine's Cutty Wraps, Arms of Mac Tir, Stealth Boots, etc. It's possible the expensive rogue rings and belt surpass the generic spirit items, but I'm not sure.
