I couldn't see another thread like this that had been posted in within the last year, so I thought I'd start over.

It's very simple; you can post as many times as you like from as many different movies or tv shows that you like. Yes Sir! It's a goddamn free-for- all and everyone is welcome.

I'll begin.

From Blackadder Goes Forth

Lord Flasheart
: Mind if I use your phone? If word gets out I'm missing, five hundred girls will kill themselves. And I wouldn't want them on my conscience, not when they ought to be on my *face*! Hello? Cancel the state funeral, tell the king to stop blubbing, Flash is not dead! I simply ran out of juice! And before five hundred girls all go 'oh, what's the point in living any more?' I'm talking about petrol! Woof! Send someone along to pick me up. General Melchett's driver will do, she hangs round with a big knob so she'll be used to a fellow like me. Woof!

Captain Blackadder: Look, do you think you could make your obscene phone call somewhere else?

"You know what the chain of command is? It's the chain I go get and beat you with 'til you understand who's in ruttin' command here! Now we're finishing this deal, and then maybe, maybe we'll come back for those morons... got themselves caught... and you can't change that by getting all... bendy." - Jayne Cobb

William Bell: We would commuicate through my brain waves. You'd hook me up to an EEG machine and decipher my thoughts.
Walter: It could work. But still, I'd have to milk you.
William Bell: Well, we could asign Astrid.

You should probably just make it a TV quote thread since this one is a movie and game quote thread, though people have been posting TV quotes too.

Babylon 5-

"You forgot the first rule of a fanatic. When you become obsessed with the enemy, you become the enemy." -J. Sinclair

"Everyone lies, Michael. The innocent lie because they don't want to be blamed for something they didn't do and the guilty lie because they don't have any other choice." -J. Sinclair

"The universe is run by the complex interweaving of three elements: energy, matter, and enlightened self-interest." -G'Kar

"There comes a time when you look into the mirror and realize that what you see is all that you will ever be. Then you accept it, or you kill yourself. Or you stop looking into mirrors." -Londo Molari

Courier: Are.. you my brain?
The Courier's Brain: Ah, lovely, figured that out, have we? Would you like a cookie?
Courier: Listen! You're my brain, so you'd better be more respectful!
The Courier's Brain: Oh, had I? What exactly will you do if I don't? Not put me back in that cranial donjon you call your head? Heavens forbid!
Courier: Once you're back in my head, I'll watch television. Lots. And lots. Of television.
The Courier's Brain: You... You wouldn't! That's inhuman!

I posted these ones from Bicentennial Man in the other thread earlier, they were brought to mind because of my recent RL experiences.

Speaking of poetry and Robin Williams, who's an extraordinaly brilliant actor, some quotes from Dead Poets Society (1989) occurred my mind.

"John Keating: They're not that different from you, are they? Same haircuts. Full of hormones, just like you. Invincible, just like you feel. The world is their oyster. They believe they're destined for great things, just like many of you, their eyes are full of hope, just like you. Did they wait until it was too late to make from their lives even one iota of what they were capable? Because, you see gentlemen, these boys are now fertilizing daffodils. But if you listen real close, you can hear them whisper their legacy to you. Go on, lean in. Listen, you hear it? - - Carpe - - hear it? - - Carpe, carpe diem, seize the day boys, make your lives extraordinary.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

John Keating: O Captain, my Captain. Who knows where that comes from? Anybody? Not a clue? It's from a poem by Walt Whitman about Mr. Abraham Lincoln. Now in this class you can either call me Mr. Keating, or if you're slightly more daring, O Captain my Captain.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

John Keating: We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for. To quote from Whitman, "O me! O life!... of the questions of these recurring; of the endless trains of the faithless... of cities filled with the foolish; what good amid these, O me, O life?" Answer. That you are here - that life exists, and identity; that the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse. That the powerful play *goes on* and you may contribute a verse. What will your verse be?
"
