I had been playing DA:O for about 12 hours and had a level ~10 Dwarf warrior. I decided to try out the Leliana's Song dlc. Bought it, downloaded it, installed it - played for 20 minutes or so and decided I gave my mage the wrong spells so I went to delete my saves and start the DLC over again.
I was at the main menu - clicked "Load Game", selected "Switch Character" and selected Leliana, deleted both saves that were there for Leliana's Song.
Suddenly my Switch Character button is gone. Tried to exit DA:O and reload, hoping it came back... no luck. Tried browsing the My Docs/Bioware/Dragon Age folder for saves. NONE are there.
What the hell just happened?
Deleted my Leliana's Song save and it deleted ALL my saves?!

Sure enough, according to some free data recovery software I downloaded, every single save in my Characters folder was deleted. I may or may not be able to recover a good save.
Way to go Bioware. This is a horrid bug that needs IMMEDIATE attention.

This is not a common game bug. It is most likely that it switched to your main character and you accidentally hit delete.

That's not possible, because I had about 10 saves for my main character and I did not hit delete more than twice.

Ab a minimum, this is not a common problem. After well over a year and a half on these forums, I had never seen it; and a pretty thorough google search didn't turn up another incident like it. I would suggest that something other than a standard game bug is happening--something that would be important to nail down. It is possible to delete an entire character at once (not hitting delete 10 extra times), which is why I suggested that possibility.
