At its current price, do you guys think DA2 is worth spending the money on, or would it be better to go with a different fantasy RPG?
I personally have only played the demo and i think that it was much better than its competitors, but im not sure if i should buy it. or just buy origins.

Also as a sidenote, which platform do you think its best for?

If you haven't bought it already I'd wait for the inevitable bundled pack that will be released just prior to DA3.

If your PC can handle it get PC version. There are tons of mods that you can use on PC.

And if you choose to buy DAO - go for Ultimate Edition, it contains DA:O, full expansion DA:A, nine DLCs.

I rented the game and got a good amount of enjoyment out of it. (Probably should wait for a price decline, IMO)

Buy Fallout: New Vegas instead. It's... a post-nuclear fantasy... yes...

Oh, and Xbox 360 is the best because that's what I own.  But if I were being truthful, I'd say PC because of mods... although I didn't know mods were possible or availible at this time.  If it's just save game editing, you can do that on the 360.

Or if you're looking for a action RPG with decent combat mechanics and an excellent story get Bastion.

It's worth it to pick it up, most especially if you enjoyed DAO. Get it for PC if you can, if only for the mods. WAY too many to choose from to add tons of replay value. And more and more are made every day.

Buy Witcher 2 or save your money for ES: V.

I would buy Origins Ultimate edition. It has much more replay value.

If you really liked that demo (which was a terrible POS), you will have fun with the full game. It is your choice, but personally I never recommend this game to anyone. They already sold too much. In the end the devs might think that the game is heading in the right direction, because it sold well.

I think it is not worth buying it. a mediocre rpg on the one hand, inconvenient installation, registration and downloads on the other.
i think da2 has gone in the wrong direction for the most players.

Eh? Installation and registration are easy as pie. And DLC are optional.

As for the question the OP asked: If you are unsure, try the demo. Or rent it first. I'd advise against watching LPs to avoid spoilers. Happy gaming!

Should you buy DA2? The short answer is no. The long answer is also, no.

Rent it, watch some lets plays, borrow it, the demo represents a large chunk of the gameplay and it gets boring quickly, if you still feel the need to buy it then go ahead. But, it is better to get DAO, the Ultimate Edition its cheaper and comes with Awakening and all the DLC, as to platform PC is the better one particularly as DAO has a lot of mods which one can take advantage of.

PC... if your computer can handle them - because of the mods, I'm using a mod that improves the combat speed in DA:O (really nice) and several others. But, also one for DA2 that allows you to use all trees for each character - so you don't have to use Anders as a healer...

And get Origins... Better replay value.
DA2 drags out with its waves and reused maps.

Get DA:O, preferably on PC, then download bunch of mods from Dragon age nexus. There are some really great, even fully voiced mods and overhauls the size of expansion pack, incorporated into main campaign and whatnot. Think of it as lots of free dlc's that are actually good.

Avoid DA2 altogether.

For its present price, no. If you liked the demo, wait for the inevitable price drop. If I were you, I would buy Origins-ultimate edition instead.

As for the platform: I recommend PC (if your computer can handle it, of course)

DA2 is worth buying. DAO is like the kids version of an RPG. DA2 is more for adults.

I am guessing that the majority of people that played and liked the demo, liked the full game also.
