Love, eh? Maybe we should build a fire, sing a couple of songs, huh? Why don't we try that?

Seriously, I'm sick of all the depressed and bitter assh*les that surround me in real life. Why can't we all just put our differences aside and get along for atleast one day. Heh, that's an empty illusion, thought.

Thats a goal worth achieveing one day, just not sure civilization is ready for that *sad face*

I agree it needs more love. I don't think it's any more loveless now than it ever was though. It just seems to be human nature to mistrust and mistreat each other.

Heh.

I do not hate the concept of love, but I do believe your version is ruthlessly overidealized and overemphasized.

Why should maintain a blind, stupid emotion that can inverse itself entirely in less than a day? Much less act as if it is the world's hope.

My apologies for posting on topic..

Only once have I let myself become emotionally involved with someone I met online. 'Let', HA, like I had a choice.
It all started with simple playful flirting and quickly turned into an intense love experience. It was frightening how fast love grew between us, frightening and exciting. From strangers to lovers in a blink. We felt like we had known each other for the entire history of the world. The joy of finding each other was exsquisite, we wept for the joy of it. Lifetimes together flashed through our minds in each word we spoke and in the silences. Touch was electric and it felt like each caress etched burning divine script into flesh and soul. Even now, the memory of it leaves me feeling breathless.
In a short time, the adage about the brighter the flame was proven true. We moved on and haven't spoken since. Still think of that experience sometimes, yet rarely talk of it. Well, anyway, there it is.

I'm not with the "haters" but  I cannot stand those who are obsessed with their significant other and go on and on about how much they love them and how gorgeous they are. Like with anything sweet, it's enough to make you vomit in large quantities.Yea, I'm not much of a fan of Romance books/movies :P

Thanks for your input ^_^

I don't see anyone obsessively going on and on about anyone here, though.  They are simply recalling something from their past.

True and for that I am thankful. One of my(female) friends who is married just would not stop posting about it oon Facebook. It was annoying and sounded almost like boasting.

I feel very sad that you don't see the point. How anyone can think that it won't help the world if we give more love and respect to each other is, quite frankly, bizarre. Surely that is better than being miserable and spreading bitterness or hatred?

And even if you don't believe it's the answer (And I'd like to state, for the record, that I don't think it is either; we need to tackle many, many social and economic issues as well), you should at least have the decency not to mock or be rude about those who are in love and happy.

Every human being is an unstable chemical soup. As such, people can't help but have a different and varying deffinition of concepts such as justice, good, evil, pleasure and indeed, love. One person's love might be another's hate. I've met alot of people in my relatively short existance, all people are pretty much strangers to each other, even if family. Love can be a good thing depending on the person feeling it. As long as the nebulous beneficial inspirational force of "love" is felt and agrees with most people's deffinitions of such a benefit, I see no problem with it.

I'm glad people can find "love" on the BSN, I guess it's like eHarmony yet without a fee so you saved some cash. Kudos!

I used to be succesful with the ladies, but ever since I started my education as a game-designer I totally got out of sync with the "playa" inside me. I always was a nerd, but a succesful nerd! Now I'm just a nerd. :( A nerd without love for more than 2 years now. :,(

Heck, I used to have the BEST girlfriend in the whole world! But I blew it! I screwed up! And so I lost her. It kinda tore me up on the inside. After her, I had a couple of "flings" but nothing serious.

Bah, why am I even posting this?

Love huh?  I'm terribly introverted so it doesn't tend to see eye to eye with me.  I'm not too cynical about it though, which is why I love this vid.  And yes, Ellen McLain read the script for the level, props to her.

I am absolutely convinced that love is not easy. If you're willing to sacrifice yourself for love, though it is worth it. Even if it doesn't end well you will come out stronger on the other side.

I'm glad to hear that many of you have found love. I wish all of you luck in the future. :D

Eharmony was a complete waste of money and time.  A good way for others to use your soul as a chew toy as well, come to think of it.

Because no one knows you on the internet.  It's a safe and mostly anonymous place to vent about your problems.

Is that weird?  Probably so.  But that never stopped me before,  I say embrace the inner weirdness and go with it.

Haha. While it is very easy to express that inner weirdness, the flip side is that it is also very easy to be a major league ****. Just look at the rest of this thread:lol:.

Love doesn't reverse itself in less than a day.  It also doesn't happen in a single moment---like in the movies.  That would be infatuation.  Love begins from either a physical attraction or from a friendship, and it requires work and time for it to continue to grow.  And without that work, it can wither and die.  Relationships all meet hurdles that must be overcome together if the relationship is to survive.  One of the first hurdles is when the newness wears off.  Another is when children seem to take up all the spare time, and the couple stops putting effort toward continuing to develop the relationship, and they grow apart.  Any given day, the question to ask is, "Is this person worth enough to me that I am willing to work and overcome the problems we encounter."  It requires both individuals to want to continue...at least most of the time.  One person can carry the other for a short time during bad situations.  But in the end, both people must want the relationship to survive.

Sure probably everyone has experienced intense infatuation where in the moment you feel as if you would give anything for the other person...but that is not love.  Love must grow on a foundation of trust, and trust is earned and given a little at a time over a long period of time.  So if someone is looking for love, start with making good friendships.  They may not develop into a romantic love, but they will be valuable nonetheless, and sometimes they do develop into love.  Either way it is not a waste of effort.

I don't even ...
Rarity of true love makes us cry, but internally .. not so loud.
Finally both Love and Hate are abominations of life. Let us attend to Labor, Virtue and Rationality of humanity toward its best.

Are we talking sexual love or platonic love?

Because the only important form of love is platonic love, which manifests as friendship and compassion.

i propose putting us all on one planet and have us all either love one another or blow ourselves up--oh wait.
