Tali/Garrus = Character Development... But S/S = Character Betrayal?

Also, saying that Ashley can't be bi because she's Christian doesn't hold weight because Christianity changes itself every now and then just to get more people to go. So what kind of religion is that? Not a very good one, if you ask me.

I don't need to do internet search, I've read it, "Saint" Paul says that slaves should obey and serve well their masters. You know it's there, so don't even think about lying.Agamo45 wrote...
Also, if you had actually read the verse instead of doing an internet search to find evidence for your hatred, you would know that St.Paul doesn't condone slavery at all, he sends the escaped slave back as a free man.
BTW, why did you bring Christian religion into this at all? At no point Ashley says she's a Christian. NO, your personal guess "ohh well Christianity is a majority so she has a good chance being one" is NOT an in-game fact.
No, it means there wasn't an option to romance him as a DudeShep. That doesn't mean he's straight. Until there's an option to hit on him and he turns you down or until he mentions himself that he doesn't like men it is not a fact that he is straight.Carfax wrote...
It's about perception. Kaidan was an LI for FemShep in ME, and not DudeShep....which means to me that he was straight.

MGS4! I want to play that game.
I was looking at the videos on youtube - awesome. I have the first 3. Never actually finished the first game...I think it wasn't what I expected since I started with the second game years ago. But I've been really wanting to play all 3 through again.
It's great! I recommend it. Mind you, you will be staring at Snake's ass a lot throughout the game.
I know I was.
Hmm...well I don't mind too much

As I said she expresses belief in 'God', meaning she's most likely a Christian a Jew or a Muslim, all of those rule out the plausibility of her being a lesbian. And to correct your Biblical illiteracy, the word 'slave' doesn't have the same meaning as it does when we use it in modern terms. It basically means bondsman, which meant they chose to become slaves to pay off debt or for some other purpose.IsaacShep wrote...

I actually have a play through in which my Shepard romanced Tali. Like I said, quarians share many physical characteristics with humans. Their females even have breasts, like human women, so they are mammalian apparently.
I'd need to roll a femShep to do a Garrus or Thane romance, but since I don't really ever play as FemShep, I don't see that ever happening.
The Drell may be passable, but if FemShep likes the sight of her own blood, then by all means, get it on with a turian

If Bioware wanted him to be available for DudeShep, they would have written it into the game itself.....however they didn't.
You can go on about how there are super secret dialogues embedded into the game and blah blah blah, but the fact remains, they were never used.
And for them to now all of a sudden turn Kaidan into a bisexual would be absolutely terrible in my opinion. Character integrity must mean something!

Most likely does. not. mean. that's. the. case. Which part of it you don't get? Also, do you know even in modern times, there are Christian denominations that accept homosexuality? You assumption she's part of the church that doesn't accept it is just that, your assumption, not an argument.Agamo45 wrote...

Religious rules don't make anyone straight. Just as they don't stop 95% of the population from having premartial sex.Agamo45 wrote...

Not in Catholicism. There are gay Bishops and priests in the Church of Scotland and the Church of England, but many other Bishops and priests converted to Catholicism to show their disappoval of the decision to include people who are openly homosexual in the clergy.
However I don't think this is the place for a religious discussion. My view regarding the topic is that I think characters that have alluded to their sexual orientation should stick to it. Anything else would be fan service.
Edit: Typo.

Oh oh are we playing "translation shell game" now? That's my favorite!
Do you know: the word Paul uses that is interpreted as "homosexual" by modern religious bigots is not used anywhere else, by anyone else, in any recorded text? And that translation is, at best, a guess? A very modern one, as modern, in fact, as the concept of "homosexual" as a thing someone could be and not a behavior someone could indulge in?

I'd say they'll do it to attract more members, as they are losing people.
Also, Bioware opened the door when they allowed Garrus and Tali to be romanceable.

This crap always happens. No one has actually answered the question of why do people feel that it would be a betrayal if Tali & Garrus were made s/s LI. Can we talk about that instead of religion or are people trying to get this thread locked on purpose?
But getting threads locked is fun.
