as I said prior... there will be political, commercial, media blackouts headlined towards the game's standpoint, just like there always are. the game will be forbidden in other countries due to this. Really? You're not getting that from this ever increasingly pleasant conversation we're having?
Like, TV shows viceo games have never suffered massive political "****-fan" incidents due to this? Really? Do you live under a rock? Tv show's video games have been cancelled because of this. It's happened, will happen again and will continue to happen.
I support the gay/homosexual community, But when it puts me at risk of not being able to play games or watch shows I want to watch, I say they cross the line.
You act like this is way more common that it actually is and even the facts you present prove your own argument false. Just what exactly are you trying to say, if not that Bioware should remove this content?
No. What I'm saying is that I want to be able to enjoy a game with family friends tell my friends in other countries about it, have them enjoy it also, share it with them, tell them about what I experienced, but in a large percentage of countries, I CANT due to media/negative posturing BANS on the subject. I have friends in the UAE, friends in other countries that CANT play these games. Friends that are homosexual in other contries that demand these things, but can't get them. My best friend is gay, we tease one another all the time about sexual preference. My wife teases me about, "loosing her to him."
I want to enjoy these games as much as every one else. But, in the larger scale I cant because of right-wing left-wing pushes towards things like this. I'm a gamer stuck in the middle who could care less about one side or the other, but because of "both side's political agenda, " I can't do it! Where's the fairness in that?
I wanted to play COD, Cant!
Wanted to play Witcher, Cant!
Wanted to play a series of MMORPGS with friends, I can, they cant!
Wanted to play a slew of games, but because of Moral posturing in my country from one side or another side, I CANT DO IT!
Where's my rights in all of this? You get what you want and I cant have what I want because you're needs are greater? Go to hell you ******!

You would wish that it can be applied to gay./lesbian sex as well. But it doesn't to the majority.
Mass Effect has had homosexuality since the very, very beginning. If homosexuality truly shocked and horrified these people, they would have thrown the game aside in disgust years ago. Unless you're saying lesbians don't count, which is just hypocritical in the extreme. And just because there are hypocritical morons out there doesn't mean BW needs to cater to them. I promise you, it won't hurt their sales a bit. Just watch.
EDIT: Also, you used Dragon Age 2 as an example of homosexual content hurting sales... uh, are you forgetting about Origins?
You're not following with what I've been saying in previous posts. I am alright with s/s romances as a whole in ME, and I don't care who turns out to be gay/bi/lesbian whatever. Anyone who gave the strong vibe from previous Mass Effect games that certain characters were straight, are being thought over by Bioware and being put in ME3 as an optional gay/lesbian romance (maybe). Like I said before, this will make a lot of people unhappy.

I'm not entirely sure I understood what you want, but I don't see how 'hiding' homosexuality by voluntarily removing it from the games is going to help the homosexuals, in any country.bioticfu wrote...

Also, does the sentence above that I've bolded mean that getting to play your favourite games or watch your favourite shows is more important to you than supporting the gay community and your gay friends? If I misunderstood that part, I'm sorry.

And those people are ridiculous. Garrus, Tali, Kaidan, and Ashley were not available as s/s romance options but they never stated that they were 100% straight. If players make that assumption, that's fine. But if that assumption turns out to be wrong, it isn't retconning or character murder. These characters are more likely to be Shepard-sexual anyway rather than admitting outright that they're bisexual.

Oh boy, the "gay agenda."

Look, guy, I can't help that your country bans these types of games. But no one is forcing Bioware to make homosexual content. They could have gone with the status quo, but they felt that enough people would enjoy the s/s content for it to be worthwhile. There is no rainbow lynch mob standing outside Bioware's offices demanding that s/s content be added, or else.
Also, telling people to go to hell isn't helping you here.

Hell to the no. RPGs are about playing the role the way the PLAYERS want, not the way the author wants. You have linear action/TPP/FPS games for that. There are quadrillion options in RPGs precisely for the sake of allowing the players to play as THEY WANT. Got it finally?Luigitornado wrote...
If they are into playing roleplaying games, then it will.
More boudries or limitations give the author to create a more compelling expierence for the player. Don't forget this is a video game, and not Dungeons and Dragons.
Freedom with who, what and why Mr.Human is and does things is good, but if they let us choose what NPCs are and why they do things is just stupid. Properly made NPCs can be cool, even if they hate your Mr.Human, becouse you are an idiot from their point of view. Or if they marry that NPC #1376 becouse you are nice, but (s)he is really hot.
Characters with good solid backgrounds are better, than walking codex entries or chars that dont tell about their background too much, so they can be whatever player wants.
