Bioware isn't even an American company, guy.

EA is, guy.

EA doesn't develop Mass Effect -- they publish it.  They have nothing to do with its creation and development.  Not to mention that Mass Effect was already in development when EA bought them out.

Guy.

You "guys" do realize that you have been arguing over completely trivial off topic for pages now, just because one person has decided to disagree on everything with everyone? <_<

It is not fairly obvious that he is gay. Could he? Yes. But there is nothing in that video to suggest that he is, and I've seen more intimate looking moments in an episode of Ren and Stimpy than this.

Weren't Ren and Stimpy actually gay?

Yep. Pinky and the Brain, Bert and Ernie, CatDog, Tommie and Chuckie, Spongebob and Patrick, and just about everyother seemingly buddy-buddy cartoon characters.

Well, no. I don't think they're gay...but Ren and stimpy...yeah. I'll just leave this here.

Any chance we could stop using the Shadow Broker videos as an argument for either side? As has been seen in the Liara parentage argument, they can be interpreted in so many ways that bringing them into discussion as 'facts' makes the entire discussion completely pointless. I'm quite sure their intention was to give players something to speculate, not "prove" things one way or the other.

That being said, am I the only one who finds it funny that there would be a species with only one type of sexuality?

Also, what's with the big, colourful and completely pointless pictures?

Actually I totally agree. I keep thinking "Wtf...we're talking about sexuality and these are aliens." They have totally different genetalia and anatomy. Who knows....maybe the males have something similar to vaginas and the females a penis.

Implications unpleasant.

The original topic was awful to begin with, this isn't really much of a net loss.

I'll give you Liara, but Garrus and Tali are still Shepardsexual.  They don't develop a relationship with any other human BUT Shepard.  Shepard is the most important person to Garrus, and Tali develops a crush of someone outside her own species because of all that you quoted above.  If it hadn't been for Shepard, that wouldn't have ever happened.  Garrus has had relations with his own species to be certain.  That is the very definition of Shepardsexual.

How crossing species barriers is fine, but genders barriers are not, will never register with me.

I'm not sure what you're not understanding here. Shepard does pretty much for Garrus without asking for anything in return. Tali just happens to be this young girl that dreams of heroes, sort to say. Of course they don't develop any relationship with other humans 'cause they are nothing compared to Shepard. And how do you know that they don't find any one else on the Normady interesting?

But if you're implying to that Tali and Garrus will be able to develop a relationship with the same sex as theirs, then then I can agree with you of them being 'Shepardsexial'.

Straight women are attracted to gay men for the sole purpose in that they seem to always know how to take care of their bodies and slick themselves up in ways straight men do not... unfortunatley.
Guys like to spy on lesbians getting naked, just as girls like to spy on gay guys getting naked.

You seem to have a weird views of straight men. I dunno if you take it from your own experiece but lemme tell you, most of straight men can take care of themselves just as well as gay men and most of them ain't raging bigots unlike you think of them.

Living in Manhattan I see alot of gays take care of themselves more than straight guys... A completely valid observation, don't know why you think that is weird. And I was talking about how women see the comparison between straight & gay men; the characteristics that they enjoy about gay men. And the "raging bigot" thing isn't making sense since it has nothing to do with what I'm talking about.

You are aware that not all women are the same and like all of the same things for the same reasons, right.

"Gay men take care of themselves better" certainly has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with why I like m/m.

Haha I would loooove it if Garrus ended up with a male turian and Tali a female quarian. They may not be interested in same sex aliens (from their point of view we would be aliens) -- but they don't mind some gay action of their own ;)

And what disscussion would that be, the one we're having right now? About whether or not Gavorn is gay? Can you think of any other disscussion it would spur?

Why the Shadow Broker had the vid in the first place.

It seems more like, you know, a silly generalization based on nothing.

I'm curious as to where you live. Because it all depends on the local beliefs and lifestyles.

I live on the internet.

In the context of straight women who specifically like gay male porn or romance content in games (as opposed to straight women who are just interested in metro guys or have complexes about collecting gay boyfriends with whom they have codependent "romantic friendships"), I've never heard that as a reason from anybody.

That's a pretty boring disscussion, I doubt he had it to incriminate gavorn, maybe the person he was with is important some way or another. Maybe the shadow broker is a pervert? Who knows, but I doubt that that's was the kind of disscussion bioware was going for.

I think he was doing it for blackmail, or to force Gavron's hand in something.

I can actually see the comparison between the US and Turians as being a valid point from a historical and political/socio stand point of reference:

Example:

Turian's Drop Genophage on Krogan to quell Krogan Rebellions.
US drops Nuke on Japan to stop their advancement during WWII
Both viewed as Militaristic and or "warmonger(US is often seen as such)"

Of course I also see Quarian's as a representation of Japan also.
Militaristic nation
Sick and hurting from a war that left them in a bad "fallout."
Created sentient robots that took over their world. (Japan will do this, we all know it.)
Likely are twisted up tentacle rape monsters inside of suits with anglerfish tendrils for eyes to lure in unsuspecting victims.

Asari I see as Greeks:
Socio-political race that was instrumental in creating the Council. Has a strong religious back ground. Socio-sexual proclivity is accepted, as "omnisexual" possesses but not known for it's military.

Krogan's I see as either the mongols or the Irish or WWII Japan:
Barbaric thuggish and quick to a fight, feeling their property gain is more valuable than their neighbors.

Just history reference :)

That is.. some gross over-simplification that ignores a lot of in-game and codex lore. I'd strongly advise reading the Mass Effect wiki entries for each of those species.
