The runner is a female. Well, the court stated that this is a woman.

The whole "Asari dont count as SS" arguement fails for one simple reason.
Lore all on its own blasts that arguement out of the water.
If the Asari were a no gendered or gender neutral species then it wouldnt count as SS for FemShep to be attracted to them. However they are established in lore as an ALL FEMALE gendered species.
This means that they ARE female in the terms that WE know a female to be.
Therefore it might not be "lesbianism" for the Asari as they can be attracted to everything (pansexual?) it certainly is a lesbian relationship from the human perspective. It definately makes FemShep a Lesbian or Bisexual.
Therefore it DOES count as SS.
No amount of quibbling over the details will change that inescapable fact.
Or at least, some people really, really want it to count as "SS".
Doesn't the fact that it's with an entirely different species kinda make that question small change anyway?

Nope. A human liking people of other species doesn't automatically neuter the ME-universe-human's perception of the other species' genders and sexes.

Asari get off with pretty much anyone of any gender from any species and it's well accepted.

It's Andrej Pejic, a male model who has often modeled posing as a female because of his feminine features (found out doing an assignment for uni).
...and I would. In a heartbeat.

Even if their concepts of gender are very different from ours, or they don't have specific "gender" roles at all? I can't recall her name right now, but the officer that has to arrest Samara isn't very "fem" by the popular standards of 2011 Western culture...
Even if their physical reproduction doesn't work the way it works for humans? In effect, all Asari are, without contact with other intelligent species, "hermaphrodites", able to take on either reproductive role. There was a point when all Asari were "pureblood".
There seems to be this unconsidered assumption that a physical relationship with Liara makes FemShep bi/lesbian, simply because Liara looks a bit like a human female. This is far more complicated than that simple assessment.

If all asari are capable of bearing live, viable young with any partner, doesn't that make them biologically female?
All Asari are also capable of fathering a child with any other Asari, as well. This non-Asari mating thing they can do is clouding that, it seems.

Its not that complicated. The reproduction process of Asari in lore might be complex and worth many papers in university, but on the surface the Asari ARE female, especially to humans with their concept of sexuality and genders.
Unless the Asari have something under the pants, which lore seems to dissprove.
Its different with Turians. Turians have no concept of breasts, what little we know about female turians is that they look VERY similar to male turians to other species. To a human one turian would look like another without either being a xenobiologist, or living among turians for great periods of time.
We don't know enough about quarians to assume, other than from the surface they have many human sexual qualities, (despite their body being the most uhuman of the "human" alien species)

Well, since you felt the need to make it personal by linking to my profile and implying that I'm raising counterpoints because I don't want an SS precedent set in ME... it was to do with you having a motive to see an SS precedent set in ME...
Now, just to make it clear, on my FemHawke playthroughs in DA2, Hawke still ends up romancing Merrill, so no, I don't have any problem with girls who dig girls in my video games.
My FemSheps always seem to end up with Thane. If it weren't firmly established that Tali is straight, I could see that combination, but it has been established.
Hell, we don't even know if Turians, Quarians, etc, have any homosexuals. It might not be neurologically possible... not that we're likely to find out.

Tali should be the SS for a female Shepard because she practically worships Shepard and it wouldn't be hard to imagine. Or Jack could also because of her past relationships with women she's actually the best choice of the two in my book.

Ohh look so I was right it's personal for you.You may not be raising counterpoints to neglect all s/s in ME, but hell yeah you're raising "this is alien so it doesn't work this way" counterpoints to explain why Tali can't be bisexual. You do have something against s/s romances just as I thought. And the best part? You bring Tali as your proof. TALI. The original "I've been hiding my feelings for you Shep" LI in the ME franchise.Killjoy Cutter wrote...

I agree that Kaiden should be SS, but he wasn't supposed to in ME1. The devs already explained the lines were recorded for cost reasons, not because it was initially planned for kaiden.
They felt the lines didn't do the character justice, and shelved the idea. I don't think they realized how many people wanted it.
