Shepard is not "canon" anything. He's not even canonicly male or female! He even has three possible backstories!

This is a role playing game, not a movie. Get a grip.

That's incorrect.  Shepard has some canon features.

Male, Soldier, Earthborn, Sole Survivor.

Hate to break it to you.

This isn't canon, this is default. It's what the writing/designing teams center themselves on to build a basis. Big difference.

It's also insulting to the writers who took a lot of time developing these guys only to cave in to the weird slash fiction demands of a few fans.

So what you're saying is that their parents wouldn't appreciate them coming out of the closet.

This is honestly pretty stupid. You can't just accept the characters for how the professional writers intended them to be? Does making Garrus and Tali change sexual orientation for the finale of the series really count as a "win" for anybody but a very vocal sub-group on a forum most fans of the games will probably never see? It's also insulting to the writers who took a lot of time developing these guys only to cave in to the weird slash fiction demands of a few fans.

The same could be said about people who wanted Garrus and Tali romanceable. Look how much more popular they became. Was that bad?

And why does it only apply to s/s?

Proof?

Sure, start a new game and make no choices.  You'll be Male, Soldier, Earthborn, Sole Survivor.  In both ME and ME2.

You can't start a game without making choices.

I see this thread is progressing nicely.

Regardless, I'd say Garrus as s/s is somewhat unlikely, given the demand for Kaidan and other more human options.

Well I think it'll be a little harder since Garrus doesn't have lips like humans. (Dirty thoughts coming to my head now)

Are you talking about kissing? Because kissing isn't sex.

There are many relationships that are based on friendship. Tali and Garrus are such examples. So I don't quite see how them becoming available in ME3 is deemed as a 'betrayal?'

As aliens that are very different to humans, it makes perfect sense that they would wait and be a bit cautious in regards to romantically involving themselves with Shepard. And even from Bioware's point of view, they could not foresee how popular they would be in ME1, and how many would want them as LI's.

I meanttttt, why would Tali open her suit for femshep, just to prove trust.

Ohh, ok.
Well she didn't say she will just that she would because she trusts her.

Or something like that....

Basically this.

I can see Garruss if not following certain sequences betraying you for the way he thinks we should kill the reapers.

But Tali worships the very ground we walk on, so no sass from her.

^ How did betrayel get into this?  I come back on here and this is the first post I see on this board.....

Well, I'm not too sure if a person needs lips for that. Also, that's not the only way......

I think Patrick Weekes knows how to write appealing and consistent characters, so I wouldn't worry too much.

Tali's parents are dead. But I don't think Mama Vakarian would be too happy about it:crying:

Sometimes, interest in a person just takes a while to develop anyway, so Kaidan or Ash being an S/S LI is possible.

It's not a case of 'I was hiding my gay', it's more a case of 'I wasn't sure how I felt at that time... and then you... you know died'.

We need romance diversity.

We don;t need any more "oh by the way I've been wanting to boink you since the last game but was too shy to act upon it romances"  Tali and Garrus already claimed that.

The second part doesn't make much sense Ash and Kaidan are really blunt in their attraction to opposite sex Shepard early in the game.

Wy must every LI be made bisexual. UNIFORMITY is terrible

She's on the deathbed too, by the sound of things.

And I'd imagine that Papa Vakarian thinks that his son is dead. Or likes to think that way.

Because all popular things are inherently good, right?

It applies to s/s because they've established that Garrus and Tali aren't gay. Not everyone in these games has to be gay or bisexual. This isn't "Mass Effect: The College years" or "Mass Effect: That Gay Thing Garrus and Shepard Did at Summer Camp." There are more important thing than having Garrus or Tali experiment.
