Sometimes, interest in a person just takes a while to develop anyway, so Kaidan or Ash being an S/S LI is possible.
It's not a case of 'I was hiding my gay', it's more a case of 'I wasn't sure how I felt at that time... and then you... you know died'.
We need romance diversity.
We don;t need any more "oh by the way I've been wanting to boink you since the last game but was too shy to act upon it romances" Tali and Garrus already claimed that.
The second part doesn't make much sense Ash and Kaidan are really blunt in their attraction to opposite sex Shepard early in the game.

So we shouldn't have any romances then, should we?

Yeah, Suicide Mission was much more important than Tali & Garrus experimenting with other species.Rezources wrote...
There are more important thing than having Garrus or Tali experiment.
And having a race of universally bisexual hot space babes who just love to go through a stripper phase in their life and can mate with any species and produce fertile children doesn't?celuloid wrote...
The problem is as follows: Statistically, there are around 2 percent of bisexual people. All LI being bisexual borders on the edge of believability. (and good taste in my case)

This is BioWares story so if they say it's character development it is character development. Everything in the ME story is total fan service. If us consumers don't like the story we won't buy the game wich leads to no profit for BioWare. Simple as that realy.Dr. rotinaj wrote...
The Tali and Garrus romances were total fan service, especially Tali's. They weren't character development, they were proof that ME fans can romance anyone if they yelled loud enough.

Unique romances are perferable to one-size fits all romances
Claiming everyone bisexual is closest to equality is BS, respecting others varied lifestyles is the closest you can get to equality

Believability went out the window. Mass Effect is hardly believable itself.

Nope. It's character development that they think many people will pay money for.Rezources wrote...

Way to contradict yourself in the shortest way possible.
