Aliens are more believable than having an entire bisexul crew.

Aliens bent on our destruction as well?

Why are people even talking about all-bisexual crew? It's been confirmed time and time again that will not happen? Is it because they don't have better arguments?

Too bad I'm straight.

That argument didn't work for Garrus or Tali, either.

Sometimes, interest in a person just takes a while to develop anyway, so Kaidan or Ash being an S/S LI is possible.

It's not a case of 'I was hiding my gay', it's more a case of 'I wasn't sure how I felt at that time... and then you... you know died'.

We need romance diversity.

We don;t need any more "oh by the way I've been wanting to boink you since the last game but was too shy to act upon it romances"  Tali and Garrus already claimed that.

The second part doesn't make much sense Ash and Kaidan are really blunt in their attraction to opposite sex Shepard early in the game.

Wy must every LI be made bisexual. UNIFORMITY is terrible

How come they cannot?

Unique romances are perferable to one-size fits all romances

Claiming everyone bisexual is closest to equality is BS, respecting others varied lifestyles is the closest you can get to equality

Respecting lifestyles? Please explain what you mean by this.

I was really obvious in my last couple posts

Mac Walters said on Twitter that only a few of the romances will be S/S.

Did you even read my post?<_<.

I have nothing against s/s romances I just don't want every LI painted with the bisexual brush.

I believe gay male Shepard's deserve appeasement becuase Femshep can be a lesbo througnt the first two games

The decision by Bioware to reverse their decision on Tali as not being a romance pre-ME2 was fanservice. Tali's romance in ME2 was character development, but not fanservice. These statements do not contradict each other.

Similarly, the decision to write a romance between Femshep and Garrus for ME2 coming out of the reaction to the character in ME1 was fanservice. The romance with Garrus in ME2 was a natural progression of his character, and character development.

The decision to make any of the previous love interests in the Mass Effect series bi-sexual, as opposed to introducing a new character instead would be of dual purposes fanservice and also conserving resources by keeping down the number of new squadmates. However, once the characters are written in the direction they are chosen to be written, this is not fanservice, but could admittedly be considered product of fanservice. It also will have been character development.

The fact is, the writers for Bioware are always trying to please fans and entertain them. All writing from character writers is meant to be fanservice, always. Fanservice as in the definition of being something some portion of fans will enjoy and want- even if they don't know it yet like with debuting an original character like Vega- or taking a returning squadmate's development a step further.

The truth is, no matter what it will always have been character development. In my opinion, some of the people just need to learn to deal with the fact that we're speaking of fictional characters who's lives are being scripted in piecemeal entries and not organic, living entities.

Or not. That's why the BSN is the BSN, after all.

This. People need to get it through their thick-heads that not every squadmember is going to become bisexual.

And Tali's mum needed to open her suit to give birth..?
I don't see why a Quarian would just open up their suit, risking illnesses and fever, just to prove a point.

Shala'Raan and Tali's mother synchronised suits so that they could be in the same clean room for Tali's birth.

I meanttttt, why would Tali open her suit for femshep, just to prove trust.

Perhaps it's simply that. It's the ultimate sign of trust for a Quarian and she's extending that to Shep. No need to dig into it much further.

This reminds of some foot massage discussion

It seems you are assuming having all bisexual LIs would make the romances seem 'uniform' i.e. less unique.

In ME2, all 6 LIs were heterosexual...were these 'uniform' or less unique?  By your 'logic', yes they were.

This argument is terrible but I see it everywhere...

Okay I thought you meant something else.
Just to nit pick, since we don't know any aliens, xenophilia isn't a lifestyle;)

You did have 3 full alien romances  2 bisexual mini-romances 3 human romances  6 straight mances, Shiala, Parasini, Krogan admirer that seems more unique than ME1.

I though a couple of characters should've been bi like Jack,  Tali, and Garrus.  would've made the ME2 romances a lot more interesting

You have DA2 activated in your profile. You should know what he meant. If anything I just don't want another Anders moment in ME3.

You mean Anders coming on to you? We won't have another situation like that, as it's been confirmed that characters will be reactive to the player.

That means you initiate romances. Not the characters.

Having the s/s options in the dialogue wheel doesn't mean any give NPC or PC is automatically gay, it's up to the PC to determine that as they play.

I didn't mind Anders coming on to my PC. It was simply the fact that he was already established as being straight in Awakenings. Him suddenly being bi felt so very crowbared-in. In fact all characters being bi felt kind of bland. Why not make some straight and some exclusively gay ?

That seems to me to be waaay more respectful to gay gamers.

NPC switching characters based on PC stats are the *worst* idea ever.

I think a great solution to this is to have the dialogue that leads to romance with a character indicated by an icon.

A heart icon, maybe? Or just have the dialogue in pink.

That way there would be no ninjamances (which is what everyone is afraid of), s/s or o/s.
