I didn't mind Anders coming on to my PC. It was simply the fact that he was already established as being straight in Awakenings. Him suddenly being bi felt so very crowbared-in. In fact all characters being bi felt kind of bland. Why not make some straight and some exclusively gay ?

That seems to me waaay more respectful to gay gamers.

Considering how many gay gamers are arguing against you, I don't think it's up to you to decide that.

Having the s/s options in the dialogue wheel doesn't mean any give NPC or PC is automatically gay, it's up to the PC to determine that as they play.

Yeah because that's JUST like real-life.

I always determine who's gay and who's straight when I talk to people in real-life. It's so epic to have the ability to choose someone's sexuality by simply carefully constructing my lines!

NPC switching characters based on PC stats are the *worst* idea ever.

And yet Bioware has featured characters that can be "hardened" in numerous games, allowing players to influence their personalities to a certain degree.

Aliens bent on our destruction as well?

Yep.

Bisexuals are more believble than aliens and aliens who want to destroy us, but having an entire bisexual crew is down right silly.

Unique romances are perferable to one-size fits all romances

Claiming everyone bisexual is closest to equality is BS, respecting others varied lifestyles is the closest you can get to equality

But having all romances be heterosexual is a-o-kay and oh so unique

I think you will find most people who are against an entire bisexual crew, don't mind having a few s/s options.

Oh my god. And I don't even believe in a god.

That has to be the one of the dumbest things I've ever seen posted.

You did have 3 full alien romances  2 bisexual mini-romances 3 human romances  6 straight mances, Shiala, Parasini, Krogan admirer that seems more unique than ME1.

I though a couple of characters should've been bi like Jack,  Tali, and Garrus.  would've made the ME2 romances a lot more interesting

You were basing 'uniformity' solely on sexuality.

Anders moment in ME3.

Yeees, and I've played the game 7 times.  What does Anders have to do with the claim that having all bisexual LIs makes for uniform and less unique romances?

I know...but their arguments against all bisexual LIs aren't very good and seem to come down to 'I don't wanna share my toys'.

I wouldn't mind if you could "convince" a NPC to go same sex for you -just as you can convince NPCs to harden up. That way it's you influencing a set character. What I loathe are automatisms that pre-change the NPCs. Specifically the ones that make the NPCs into characters having dissociative identity disorder (I'm straight -no wait I'm gay lol).

It's almost like people are frightened their going to catch "gay" cooties if the option appears in the game.

The cooties are a lie.

Which is no excuse for anything.

Letting the player decide the sexuality of the NPC with their dialogue is simply just... stupid.

I dont think Garrus, or Tali wouldn't be good S/S relations for a few reasons:

Garrus has never mentioned anything about being attracted to males. His infamous "reach and flexibility" conversation towards a male shep is almost like a playful jab that all guys would use against one another.

Quarians are very dedicated towards keeping their population stable, meaning at times they need to force eachother to reproduce. Also she's a daughter of the admiralty (which I guess could be a plug for homosexuality) and is heavily dedicated to the flotilla. Moreover, the whole LOTSB easter-egg is also a huge plug towards her being hetero. Also I dont believe she has the same convo about sharing suit enviros with a fem shep that she does with a male shep. It's heavily noted through Kasumi, Liara, Chambers and herself that she's attracted to a male shep, and never noted that she's attracted to a femshep.

*queue ****-storm of "modded fem shep" remarks*

Just to note, I agree with GreenSoda in the second part of his post. As a gay gamer, I would rather have some straight and some exclusively gay. Bisexual also if it makes sense for the character and isn't just shoe-horned in.

I prefer you to not insult my intelligence because you do not see it the way I do.

Relative to the story, aliens and aliens whom are the "vanguard of our destruction" fits entirley into realm of being believable.Having a crew made up of entirely of bisexuals is not believable because sexuality is grouded in reality; not fantasy.

O really? It's less stupid to convince someone of your philosophy than talk someone into homosexuality.

If you're talking about Garrus or about the DA:O "hardening" stuff. That's not stupid at all. You simply convince people that their way of thinking is not right. It happens all the time in real-life. But have you ever seen someone being talked into homosexuality (or the other way around) in real-life?

You can't "cure" homosexuality but you certainly can't "infect" someone with homosexuality either. Our sexuality is hardwired within our genes. It can't be changed.

So? Does that mean we should get to decide the sexuality of other characters with your dialogue? That's stupid.

Next thing we know, we can actually decide how characters look like with our dialogue!

"Oh Kaidan, you're getting fat!"

*POOF! All of the sudden there is a fat Kaidan in front of you instead of a slim Kaidan.*

Seriously don't you see how silly this is?

Look, sorry, but to me, that makes no sense. Besides they are not bisexual unless they actually say so. They are just interested in your Shepard.

In other words, they are Shepardsexual.

I think it's good to be able to convince people when I think they're doing something morally wrong. It's something entirely different when the player is trying to make them sexually accept people of the same/different gender.

Especially if they've said that they're feeling good with the way it is at the moment.

Nobody steps up to me, the player, and tries to convince me that my character is gay, so why should I treat them like that?
