Hi. I've been trying to purchase bioware points in order to buy some mass effect dlc. It keeps on saying
An error occurred while processing your request. If you canceled your
purchase at the third party payment website, this error is expected.
Code: NU2001
I tried it about 20 times because I was frustrated, then realized that I might be getting charged each time I hit the button. How can I purchase points. It worked a week ago.

If you are having issues purchasing BioWare points through the BioWare Store, you can purchase one of two packages at the Origin Store. At http://store.origin.com you will find 2 sets of BioWare points:
800 BioWare points for $10 USD
1600 BioWare points for $20 USD
Make sure when finalizing the purchase that you use the same EA/Origin/BioWare login so the points are applied to the correct account.
EA_AgentX
800 BioWare points for $10 USD
1600 BioWare points for $20 USD
Make sure when finalizing the purchase that you use the same EA/Origin/BioWare login so the points are applied to the correct account.

I've had the same error message. Either that one or "An error occurred while processing your request. Please Try again later."
I tried later at Origin's website from EA but it told me "Payment Authorization failed." When I tried to buy it from there. I thought it might be my card not working right but I seemed to have no problem shopping online elsewhere.

I have "Jedi Master of Orion's" exact SAME problem. I can barely start purchacing Bioware points to begin with. And when I tried Origin.com, I filled out the forms and everything, hit continue and they gave me the same error message.
Solution?

Bioware: NU2001 and Origin: Payment Authorization Failed. awesome. I've been to like 800 forums regarding this ****. Lucky EA/Bioware/Origin have 400 forums themselves, or they might actually see this problem and resolve it.

Finally! two more people with the same problem!
Ok guys lets pool our information and try to find some sort of pattern.
I am: Operating out of China...
Using a PC Vista...
Using a bioware account for Bioware and a EA account for origin...
Have/ tried using a VPN internet system, neither worked...
Cannot see any payment options in the Bioware purchasing que, therefore cannont complete the purchase...
Cannot complete the EA Origin store purchase due to the previously mentioned error message...
And I'm using my dad's name and credit card(with his permission) for Origin...
If you guys see any patterns like this, let me know!

I'm wondering if anyone can help. I'm trying to purchase the Mark of the Assassin DLC for Dragon Age 2 but I need to purchase some Bioware Points first. After taking longer than usual to log in, I got to the DLC site and clicked to purchase Bioware Points, all pages seem to be taking forever to load, so far I've got as far as the Checkout screen, it's trying to load as I type this...is there an issue with the site because I've tried on 2 other machines and it's exactly the same.
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: Okay I went to the above site and purchased points (Origin) but now when I try to even check my points have been added or even go straight to the download DLC page and try to download the DLC it won't load anything, just stops loading or completely fails to load the page. Anyone else having any of these problems?
EDIT2: Took me all night but managed to get it downloaded eventually.
Thanks in advance.

Trying to use a purchased code, but always getting: No response received from remote server... please check your Registered Game Promotions page to confirm if your promotion has been registered.
Can't remember if bought points are redeemed at the normal place or not, but havent found any other place to try it...
Edit: Just finally accepted it, hopefully it works for you as well now.

same here.
I've tried to purchase points on two computers (WindowsXP and Mac Lion) located at different location, after selecting the point package (tried both 800 & 1600 points), The Payment Method screen shows up with "Use n New Payment Method" & two faded out "Continue" button, with no Payment Method details. clicking on either button will bring out "General Error: An error has occurred while trying to process your request. Please, try again later."
I tried for months already ......... ..... ....... ..... ...... ...............

I see similair problems dating back 2 years.. I'm curious how these problems can go on for soo long. I've tried multiple cards to same effect "Cannot use this card" or something similiar. My PayPal's locked out, currently unable to address that issue. I'm currently not home in the States and find it brilliant Origins doesn't have the United States as an option under the billing, and through what I've read online I don't want to chance losing my money because I can't pick my correct country of billing if charge happens, and it has to people. Beautiful options, meh

I also just started having this issue, shows UNCONFIRMED, after I had just purchased 800 points 5 mins before, and another 800 roughly 10mins before that....
I bet if I cry hard enough to EA I can get some compensation.

Same issue here. Wanted to buy 400 points (since I still have 480 left from before) so I can get a DLC, but keep running into the NU2010 error. Tried searching for some solution here on the forums but all I could find was other people having the same problem.
Would be nice if EA/Bioware could solve the issue (or at least let us know what that error code stands for).

It has to be a region thing.. I'm U.S. military deployed in Japan.. can't buy points with an American address when the store only sells to Japanese region people. Basically.. EA says we like to capitalize on DLC, but screw you if can't get our content.
But nowadays it's wishful thinking to get a COMPLETE game on launch. Good luck to you all

2) If your Billing country, your EA account, and the country your IP
resolves to mis-match, your transaction can fail.
ESPECIALLY COMMON IN EUROPEAN CUSTOMERS, or those customers using
non-traditional ISP services.
Ok, so that's what it says on the Common problem areas, PLEASE READ FIRST **UPDATED** thread.
So here's my problem...
I live in Spain, but have a satellite internet connection and as the base station for the service is in the UK, I have a UK IP address.
I cannot use MoneyBookers or PayPal, because they won't accept a PO Box address. I live in a rural location and don't have mail delivered, so I have to collect it from a PO Box in my nearby town. Laughably, I actually had a PayPal account for several years, at my PO Box address, but they froze my account last year, telling me I can't have a PO Box address and there's no way around it. Never any payment issues or problems, but their change in policy meant I could no longer use PayPal, as I have no other address... thanks PayPal!
So today I decided to try buying some BioWare points. I've tried all the links via BioWare, Origin, EA Store... and none will accept my VISA credit card. I've tried through the USA, UK and Spain sites, but none will accept my card, which I'm assuming is because of point 2) in that common problems thread.
Question is, how the hell am I supposed to pay for BioWare points? Are there any alternatives?
I seem to remember having exactly the same problems trying to buy points and DLC content for ME2. I managed to get hold of an EA customer services rep via online chat. They couldn't find any solutions then and actually credited sufficient points to my BioWare account to get the DLC I wanted... for free!
Very nice of them I thought at the time, but seriously... I don't mind paying for the DLC content I want. Indeed, I'd be happy enough to do so if any of the methods I try, actually worked.
Incidentally, even considering my IP address doesn't match with my credit card address and actual country of residence, I never have any problems purchasing online with Amazon, Steam, Microsoft, etc... just EA Store, PayPal and MoneyBookers.
Would love to find out if there's any solutions... Hell, I even played Ultima Online for over 10 years and never had problems with my subscriptions, even moving countries. I try to make individual purchases for BioWare DLC content... and it's like they don't want my money!

I just ran into the same problem. Error NU2001. I have a Canadian mastercard and it's my first time buying points.
I suspect it's related to the country I'm in (China for now), maybe when I return to Canada this will be resolved.
UPDATE:
WTF...back in Canada and same issues!? NU2001...Origin nor Bioware site works!

having the same problem on both my parents cards (with permission) from Australia, with an ADSL connection.
so it's not just linked to a specific card, seems to be linked to an account perhaps, probably just the derelict rEAper's mass effect field failing

I had no problem buying Bioware points from Bioware's site or from within Mass Effect 3 until about a week ago. Since then, every attempt results in the "NU2001" error message.
I'm using the same Visa credit card (that worked earlier) and have changed nothing about my EA / Origin / Bioware accounts. I tried using PayPal but that didn't work either.
My credit card - and PayPal - work perfectly everywhere else.
A web search reveals that many people have been encountering this issue for quite a while, but I could not find any "fix" that worked.
I can but Bioware points from the Origin store but they are considerably more expensive from there than from Bioware's site, or from within Mass Effect 3.
This is very frustrating!
