i would also say if you get tired of the look of DA2 try the Dragon Age 2 redesigned mod on the nexus site it changes the look of the NPC's , Companions,Kirkwall and surrounding areas and also the Darkspawn too its really good made it fresher

I think for me having not totally enjoyed Origins 1st time round when i switched to DA2 and did about 12 playthroughs and having got used to the faster pace i just found it impossible to enjoy Origins at all anymore so i went back to DA2 though my Origins disc does make a nice coaster/beermat now i guess its not a total loss lol

And completely understandable, the pace is too slow for some. I worried that I would have the same problem when I went back to DAO, but not an issue for me. However, I think a middle ground between speeds would actually work for most?

LOL! Yeah a friend of mine did that with his DA2, evne had pic somewhere. Me, well, I can't do that, not even if I didn't like DA2. I even refused to uninstall it (good thing, I like Legacy) and I will play again for a different path on the "All that Remains" quest which Jack and Mr. House both pointed me to, an option I hadn't done (which I am looking forward to) thanks to them!  *HUGS* When I go back to do more Legacy playthroughs and also material for my fanfic writing.

Oh and thanks for the tips on the mods, I need to beg Mr. House for the one for the elf NPCs too.

its a good one if its what i think it is though i did start to feel that bumping off the PC's mother and 1 sibling was un-nessercary(pardon my spelling) with the other sibling i always choose the option to make them a grey warden for bethany or warden/templar for carver.
my favourite line was from Legacy when Varric says "if he(Corypheus) pulls a dragon out of his arse i'm leaving "

I seriously do respect the hell out of Sylvius.  He's a cool guy.  But I do worry about him as well. It cant be healthy to be that serious all the time mate.[

I'm serious about roleplaying because roleplaying is important to me.

Loosen up, and let the chaos in from time to time ^_^

I abhor chaos.

Choas and Sylvius is like trying to stick two magnectic fields of the same charge together...NOT gonna happen.

Seriously he's the human version of Spok

Glad you liked that 1 too erynnar, how about Isabella saying "Sorry I dont speak never get sex again" Moments like that might have Made DAO replayable for me maybe.

Also just thought overnight if FPS should be called FPRPSG's ( 1st person roleplay shooter game's) since you are essentially playing a "role" with a silent PC like the COD games for example( i cant ever recall hearing my character ever actually speak)

Would you be offended if I call you Spok? ^_^
In actual seriousness though I can understand your sentiments on RP'ing.  The only difference between you and I in our stances on RP'ing is that I personally am only super serious about RP'ing when Im actually sitting down with my old D&D group and we're running a campaign.  It's during those times that everything I say and do (unless said otherwise and only in important situations such as family and/or medical emergencies) is literally in character.

As far as chaos goes, think of it this way;  Even in chaos, there is order (to an extent) you may think that there is no constant when chaos in involved but in truth there is.  And that constant, is to always expect the unexpected.  And when you can bring yourself to accept and sometimes expect the unexpected, you can begin to predict and/or calculate possible outcomes for different scenarios.  It's why Im almost never surprised in real life situations when something good/bad/in between is tossed my way because my frame of mind allows me to in a sense, expect a multitude of outcomes.  Alot of times Im pretty spot on, but almost just as much, Im only in the ball park but right enough that it allows me to adapt to that random event.

Totally unrelated but it's also this frame of mind that I possess that allows me to excel at my martial arts background.  Logic, Order, and Technique will only get you so far in a conflict, it's chaos, and unpredictability, that allow one to be flexible enough to adapt to the new scenario and overcome it.  This can also be applied in terms of the mind in much the same way.  Chaos and randomness arent as bad as you might think.  It's when  you harness them and can use them as a tool that beautiful things start happening :wizard:

As much as I find aspects of DA2's design annoying, I doubt it's immediately going to fall into the group of games I'm confident I'll never play again (like many Diablo-clones, or basically any RTS game).

DAO is currently in the group of games I insist on having installed all of the time, just in case I want to play them.  That group includes:

BG
BG2
KotOR
NWN
NWN2
DAO
Dungeon Siege
Alpha Centauri
Wizardry 8
Medieval II, Total War
Civ IV
Ultima IX

Whenever I get a new computer, I immediately install all of these games and ensure that they run properly.

And I find DA2 a complete chore from fed ex quests to repetitive environments. And I despise Hawke because in real life I am like Hawke. I talk to people who are dying, or their afraid they are going to, their family members are afraid a loved one is going to. I speak to people puking up their tonails while clumps of hair fall out worrying whether or not they can afford groceries or pain meds. How are they going to get to their treatments? Do they pay their copays and get treatment or pay the rent so they don't become homeless.

That is what I deal with, just to name a few. Most of the time, I can't find resources for them. I am Hawke, helpless and hopeless to effect any changes in these people's lives. I despise how ineffectual Hawke is, because I am her. I have to sit there powerless to really do anything at all. I don't need that in a video game where I'm trying to get away from that.

Maybe if I had a happy happy joy joy fuzzy bunny job. Or even a job where human suffering wasn't part of it, I might have a little less digust for Hawke (still a poorly written character in many aspects). I like Witcher 2, it is political, and not a save the world story. But Geralt (despite not being customizable) still beats Hawke as a character, because the character is well written and the decisions I make with him matter (not all for the better, but at least I could save some people along the way).

Sorry, but decisions on how I get a companion to shag me, or personality in a cut away scene, don't really cut it for me. Those don't make me feel epic. And I don't want to play a video game so I can be some regular schmuck with a pair of daggers or a big magic wand whose every major illusion of choice is really no illusion of choice, just illusion and everything that did happen would all happen if my Hawke left Kirkwall anyway. What is the point of that?

Glad people get more out of it than me, really I am. I am just not one of those fortunate people.
