Anyone who likes to save alot will like this (not me personally; how many for me? that is easy-none;)) a lot.  I have gone through the painstaking process of doing another ME2 runthough just to verify that this works and so far no problems what so ever.

Epic Legion has created a program that will remove the limit of 50 saves on the PC version of Mass Effect 2. It also can open the ingame console plus other tid-bits of cool stuff if one so desires.

The program is called the PCC PATCHER
located here:
http://social.biowar...t/4715/#details

PLEASE NOTE:
You must have the version 1.02 ME2 Executable for this to function.

Here is how to open and use its functionality:

1) Download & extract the enclosed folder from the linked zip file to your Mass Effect 2 Binaries folder:
Usually located here: \\Program Files\\Mass Effect 2\\Binaries

2) Open the "PCC PATCH" folder and drag the enclosed files directly into the ME2 binaries folder.

3) Double click the "PCCPatcher.exe" that is in the binaries folder now and then proceed to the below instructions once the program has opened:

---=== In the open PCC PATCHER PROGRAM ===---

1) File > Open engine
usually located here: #Program Files\\Mass Effect 2\\BioGame\\CookedPC

2) File > Open SFXGame
usually located here: #Program Files\\Mass Effect 2\\BioGame\\CookedPC

3) Basic Mods Tab
4) Select the tick boxes that you want for your game.
5) Main Tab> Save Packages
6) Run the newly unofficially "Patched" Mass Effect 2 and enjoy the enhancements.
 ^_^

Proof that it works:

Current abilities upon choosing the desired functions that you wish:

ActorType vars can now be used.
In-game console now available.
In-game property editor now accessible.
Save limit-NUKED!
Shared Power Cooldown- NUKED!
The AI can now become blind.

NOTE: If an error occurs about invalid file size PM Epic and he will update the program to work with your version. Have fun and enjoy. B)

Just to bring to light that this method COMPLETELY ELIMINATES the need to move your Mass Effect 2 save files or folders.

This project has been updated to remove shared power cooldown that can be a persistant irritation. As well as something that can be funny at times- Make the A.I. blind.

Phoenix, both you are Legion deserve a well earned round of beers for your continuing hard work.

OK, I'm having a slight brain glitch here.
Ive added the various lines to the coalesced.ini file, disabled global cooldown on a new game (stock ME2 new game, no import), and it only seems to work briefly for the first power used, and then re-enables itself.
ie: Wake up in med bay, grab pistol and thermal clip, and activate AP ammo (bonus power). The other powers remain available for very brief moment, then the global cooldown kicks in again.

Is the patcher in the ME2 Binary folder?
Does it remain active after leaving the Lazerus Station?

You could try removing any lines from the coalesced.ini that mess with the global cooldown....:?
I will PM Epic to see if this can be quickly remedied.

I knew it was something I was doing wrong. I had it sitting the Biogame\\CookedPC folder. *slaps head*
Sorry. False alarm.

I do wonder why Bioware even put 50 save limit?

Also, if I instal this. Does everything takes effect or I can just remove 50 save limit?

Presumably because ME2 was developed as a cross-platform game.

Consoles have max 32 saves per character, and max ten characters.

Dragon Age Origins and 2 on PC didn't had that problem.

I really don't see why Mass Effect Bioware team couldn't remove that limit on PC.

All you have to do is to select the options that you want to use in step 4.;)

At least on 360, most games have save limits so it is definitely intentional: Sacred 2: 10 characters, DAO&DA2: 10 characters, 32 saves per char etc.

Memory limitations then maybe?
That is indeed annoying.<_<

Glad that I could be of help to the Mass Effect community.
All credit for the Patcher program goes to its' creator: Epic Legion, for without whom this would not have been possible at the current time.

Hey first of thanks for making this and secondly I seem to be having issues with it.
Ive done every thing correctly I think, I run the program set it all up choose to enable the console then save packages. But once I launch the game the console doesnt come up after hit the ~ key.

It is a steam version if that has anything to do with it. I Put the patcher files in the programfiles>steam>steamapp>common>Masseffect2>Binaries folder.

Is there something else I need to do? I just need the console so i can use the toggleflycam and togglehud commands.

Having the exact same problem as Hazardous Cobra except I'm not using Steam--just standard stuff. Does anyone have any advice please? I can't get the console to show up, and it's kinda irritating.

Odd.
Is the ME2 Executable version 1.02?
Did you place the information from the readme in the C.ini that relates to console?

If it does not work then there is another way.

No problem. All credit goes to Epic Legion all I did was to make it known.

Are you talking about the free copy given out with Dragon Age 2?
