I know this is an old thread but I was wondering how do I find the:

1) File > Open engine
usually located here: #Program Files\\Mass Effect 2\\BioGame\\CookedPC

2) File > Open SFXGame
usually located here: #Program Files\\Mass Effect 2\\BioGame\\CookedPC

Files? I'm using a steam version and there is no CookedPC in BioGame... Thanks for your help!

Found it thank you!

You get to it by going to OS (C:) > Program Files (x86) > Steam > StreamApps > Common > Mass Effect 2 > BioGame> CookedPC

I'm having an issue in which, everything is apparently loaded properly but for the life of me the in-game console never comes up when I press the tab or tilde key. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated!

I followed the provided instructions, but appear to have done nothing. I have the me trilogy...don't know where to find out if me2 is 1.02?? I am new to pc gaming and mods. When the pcc patcher opens and I follow the instructions and hit save packages, it doesn't appear to do anything. I then loaded the game and couldn't figure out how to open the console and didn't notice any difference with any of the new settings. So, either I don't have the 1.02 version or I did something wrong, despite my belief that I followed the directions. Any help would be appreciated. pccpatcher for dummies would be nice. :)
Just found out that I do indeed have version 1.02. So, am uncertain why it didn't work or what I need to do to get it to work. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Okay, I was just experimenting with this as well, and here's everything I did, and it worked for me:

With the patcher in the Mass Effect 2 binaries file, open the patcher.
Select the Engine.pcc for the engine, and SFXGame.pcc for the gameplay. These are located in the BioGame CookedPC folder.
Once those are on their respective Engine and Gameplay lines, hit the Load packages button.
The dialog box should say the items loaded successfully.
Now go to the tabs with the modifications, and checkmark each one you want to apply.
Go back to the main tab, and hit the save packages button.
Load up ME2, and you should be able to open the console with ~ (assuming you are using a QWERTY keyboard).

I sincerely hope this is of assistance.

Ive followed instructions but console doesnt work for me for some reason... =\\

I have a Steam version of the game...

EDIT: Other features are not working as well. Im press "load packages" and i can see all my choices, so checkboxes are checked, but theyre giving no impact on the game.

EDIT 2: Nevermind.. used different exe, patched it in HEX and replaced. Also disabled steam's "auto check for updates".

I don't know if I'm the first to have this problem, but I recently tried using this. I downloaded the patcher and followed all the steps, but now I can't launch the game at all.

It's via Steam, and whenever I click on Play, or open the Mass Effect 2 launcher and play from there, nothing happens

Hate making late replies, but I have all of my files in the correct places, have the version 1.2 version of the ME2 .exe, and have followed all of the directions on the first page of this thread, and yet when I click save packages, nothing happens in the PCC modder indicating that anything was saved and nothing happens when I try to open the console in-game, assuming the default key is ~ :/

QUICK EDIT:True to form, as soon as I complain about something not working and ask for help with it, it works all of a sudden!  No help needed, thank you very much for the awesome instructions for the modder!

How do you use the in-game property editor in game? what's the console code or is that how you use it?

Thank you for this dude.

First half hour i felt like just coming here screaming @ you but i kept my cool and eventually got it done right. :D (Makes good sense to follow instructions EXACTLY)

For those who wonder how to enable console: For me (swedish user) it was the TAB key that opened the console. It's very small at the bottom of the screen & you can type in things like " initcredits 9999999 " for max credits. More console stuff @ http://masseffect.wi...(Mass_Effect_2)

Ty again for helping me enable the console! :)

So sorry for the necro but it seems the most appropriate thread.

I tried and tried and tried to get the ingame console to work because I know it does as I have played through this game shitloads of times but it doesn't come up. I use a QWERTZ keyboard and settings and neither TAB nor Tilde nor any other button will bring up the console but when I check with your little program it loads up fine and all the boxes are enabled in terms of enabling the console. I even tried to Masseffect2inieditor or whatever it's called to change the coalesced.ini so I could reassign the key to enable the console... nothing worked. I am absolutely at my wits end and would appreciate the help.
