Have we heard about any differences between the two?  I know the Xbox version is "Better with the Kinect."  I assume the PS3 will have one disc while the 360 version have multple (like Mass effect 2 did).  Have we heard anything about the story and descions that carry over.  I played both the PS# and Xbox versions of Mass Effect 2 and there were parts not in the PS3 version (like Conrad).  Will it be the same for ME3?  Are there any other differences?

the differences are very minor. it wont really matter honestly. play on whatever console you prefer. my suggestion would be the same one you have the other games on for importing.

honestly the differences arent worth mentioning.

Well if you want the full experience and the best possible import, I'd get the first and play it on the 360.

If you really want all the little decisions that you made in Mass Effect 1 to matter then buy it for the PC or Xbox 360.

If you are perfectly happy with your PS3 import and aren't too fussed about the little nod's to ME1 side quests then get it for the PS3.

The devs have said there will be no difference between the two versions, so you'll only be missing out on side stuff that won't affect the main story.

There will probably be a slight difference in graphics that's really only visible when you compare them side by side like every other multiplatform game out there, and you can't import a Mass Effect 1 save file on the PS3.

I doubt there'll be any differences except for the number of discs. ME2 only looked different on PS3 because they added some of the shaders and whatnot they already had done for ME3 to the game's engine

XBox (or PC) is the only one that will have all the little extras that carry over from ME1. Like people a PS3 player has never heard of... Conrad Verner, Sha'ira, Shiala, Fist, Helena Blake, etc.

I've replayed ME1 to full completion far, far too many times to simply throw away my saves. Hours upon hours of slowly trudging up craggy hills will not be wasted!

The only way to truly experience Mass Effect will be to play all 3 games in sequence of each other. Can't do that on the PS3. Right now whenever I do a new playthrough I make a new Shepard in ME 1 and run them through ME 1 and then import then into ME 2. I feel way more immersed in my Shepard's story and choices when I experienced making those choices in ME 1 and then carrying them over to the next game it gives me context that the comic or anything else can't replicate.

Done that a few weeks ago. As soon as I finish my first playthroughs with all my Shepards I'm going back to ME1 to do one big playthrough. It's sad I know but I'll enjoy it.

That is what I will be doing, though I suspect I will be doing a few ME 3 playthroughs before going back to the other 2 games partly because of that new game smell and all that good stuff.

I played through ME1 and ME2 with one Shep, then went back and did ME1+ME2 again two more times for more Sheps.

I started having trouble going back to ME1 though, because ME2 made many improvements, and ME1 has some very tedious parts like planet exploration. I started downloading other people's saves so I wouldn't have to play ME1 again.

I'm currently moving a new Shep through ME1 though, because I couldn't find an ME1 save that has a live Fist, dead Wrex, and a non-social-worker Helena Blake... one of the last permutations I don't have.

Aye, It'll take me a while finishing ME3 with all my Shepards but after that's done the next time I play mass effect it'll be from the beginning.

The re-playability of this trilogy is crazy.

I have played both games more times than I would like to admit in fact whenever I start a new playthrough of ME 2 and the list of ME 1 imports I have ready comes up it is so long that it is embarassing, oh well I can't put this series down. Sure I will take breaks from it to play other games but I always come back.

They're going to be exactly the same. It would be cheaper for Bioware to develop it twice- console and PC. If they redeveloped it for both consoles separately, taking advantage of both's strengths and weaknesses, that would cost money that would only improve graphics nobody would notice. They are just making a generic version that will work for both consoles, and and change the file types for the different machines. They will be exactly the same (except Kinect)

Not really, just pointing out you can't get the full ME experience on the PS3 that you can on the 360 or the PC.  If ME 1 was available to the PS3 then I would say it doesn't matter what system you get the game on.

In the PS3 version of ME2 a bunch of sidequests on Illium were gone. Has there been anything said about how much of ME1 decisions will be in ME3 and if the PS3 version will contain them.

From the interviews at gamescom they've said we'll see Conrad Verner and Captin Kirrahe again and I think the reporter as well.

I've heard their[Bioware] goal is for there to be almost zero difference between the two versions. However, I have the sneaking suspicion that the PS3 version will be a port of the 360 version, and that the 360 version will again look better than the PS3 version. But, I could always be wrong.
