I recently did a fresh install of Windows 7, 64-bit edition. I applied
all patches, including SP1, prior to doing anything else. Now, ME 1, as well as ME 2,
will not install? I'll have a thread posted in the ME 2 section, but
thought I would mention it in case it help solve the issue.
Trying to install ME 1, I have tried compatability mode for Windows XP SP2, Vista SP2, and Windows 7, no service pack, and they all fail.
Has anyone else ran into this issue?

I also just started with Windows 7 64 bit, I could install ME1, but I can't get past the launcher. It takes me to configuration because it is my first play, then it says that ME Configuration utility has stopped working.

(TheAngryHeretic) I have Windows 7 Professional 64 bit and running ME1 and ME2 with no problems. One thing to try could be disabling UAC or try running and/or installing the game as admin. Try also downloading the latest DirectX package from Microsoft.
