then the stupid, ignorant, demanding and ungrateful wear on you to the point where you have zero tolerance for it. i get tons of messages every single day, and posts in my threads. some people are kind, and i meet them with kindness in return. some people seem to have a ridiculous sense of entitlement, demand i help them, and generally act like spoile brats, when i do this out of love for the community and helping people
< - no longer has any tolerance for it
if you come here and genuinely ask for help, i will do everything i possibly can to make your da2 experience more fun
if you're stupid, and you act stupid, i'm going to tell you that you're stupid. these forums are full of information on just about anything you could want to know about the game, and they should read up and learn before coming in here complaining about things. some people have it coming, and i'm done giving a soft touch to them in hopes that they come around.
in other, topic related news, i finished the video for this new build, and will write something up for it soon

But yeah, the good old days where IN1 still lurked around with his crazy builds and concepts and Jack-Nader was there to completely crush Arelex's speedrun times hahaha

But still, i would rather them not be 'above' me- that doesn't sound too....healthy hahaha
And you forgot the part where Jack-Nader got 14 seconds for the deep roads dragon with a rogue (http://www.youtube.c...h?v=PZmSVq9x1A4) and ~16 seconds with a warrior ()
I attribute it to a tolerance for mind-numbing boring repetition allowing him to find decent gear via shopping (I tend to give up after a few minutes).

When I picked up DA:2 a month ago, I started it on Normal and was having some problems so I looked around and saw your mage guide. I used your build closely and your tactics, and even on normal I had issues with some fights but it was definitely easier than before. In hindsight I see that I really was quite the noob. I didn't take advantage of CCCs offered, and my tactics during fights were horrible. At the time though, I didn't think I was doing anything wrong though, and wondered how realistic your guide was or how often you had to reload saves. I also wondered why you had made alot of the decisions you had made. Still, your guide really helped me.
Even though I had issues on Normal with the 3 mage party, I decided my next step was Nightmare with your berserker vanguard. It was really this playthrough that I started to first realize the beauty of your guides. I started to finally understand why you were taking some of the talents you did. Assassin's were an absolute BEAR for me though, as well as the qunari ones in particular heh), and it wasn't until nearly the end of the playthrough that I started to figure out how to deal with them. For quite a few of teh tougher fights, I ended up setting it on Normal just to beat them. By the end of the playthough though, many fights I expected to be hard were so easy on Nightmare that I found myself checking to see if I had left it on normal!
My last playthrough was as your one-shot overkill and I wasn't sure if I wanted to play it, rogue just sounded weak. However though, all your guides, suicidialBaby's tactics guide and the experience really paid off. Outside of the proloque as a rogue (uggh that was painful), the game felt like on easy the entire time. One-shotting enemy rogues, beating the ARW as if he was nothing, killing Arishok in 20 seconds, etc.
Thank you so much for the work you put in all these guides. You turned one normal playthrough into getting me totally addicted and having some incredible fun trying things out, adding weeks of enjoyment to this game for me. Right now I am finishing up a playthrough of DA:A and plan on trying out archer in DA:2 next. I can't wait for your full writeup!

1) Those advocating not taking Archer's lance are ridiculous. You won't get assassinate until mid act2, until then Archer's Lance is your only huge hitter. Not only that, but it also can do considerable AE incidental AE damage. Friendly fire isn't really an issue at all with a merrill/anders/varric party. As Arelex said, you aren't an NPC.
2) Another ability people make fun of, exploding arrow. I have found it very useful so far. Don't understand all the hate for the archery tree atm, though maybe my opinion will change as I get higher in level. The one thing I don't like about rogue builds compared to warrior/mage ones is the lesser amount of Hawke AoE. Exploding arrow and archer's lance help remedy that, something the DW rogue doesn't have.
3) I really don't like Rush on Hawke. I am usually standing next to Varric while machine gunning things coming towards us, and don't get me wrong, his charge is awesome. It is quite amusing when a few mobs manage to get past the hail of arrows only to suddenly get knocked back. However, his charge seems enough. The times I forced myself to use Rush, it just seemed a waste. I picked up stealth/veil instead, though even these points don't feel necessary either.

Its a good idea use Hood's Message to the King and fire damage gear?
Using Hood's Message to the King is definitelly a good idea. As far as fire damage gear goes, it's generally better to just use the standard +crit damage/chance rogue gear, since the DPS increase from elemental gear is minimal, and you don't have to invest any attribute points in magic and willpower, if you stick with rogue gear. The only +fire damage items I used for my Archer were Dura's Blue Flame (until Legacy), Eye of The Blue (Legacy) and Ring of the Ferryman. These accessories give you a massive fire damage boost, and IMO, it is the only +fire gear worth using.

So using the robes of unblemished cleaness is a bad idea? Im using the robe, the eye of the blue and rhe ring of the ferryman right now.

No, there's nothing wrong with the robes. If you already speced your character so that he can wear the robes, keep on using them.

Also, I think he did end up using a firestorm with his archery setup.
I'm not sure if you've seen it before, but this is what he was working on:
It's basically an attempt to give archery some aoe damage and make it a tad more interesting than auto-attacking everything to death (with the occasional assassinate).
So you drop a decoy near to an boss/elite (clustering the enemies around it), injure and disorient the boss/elite with a pinning shot, then walking bomb and explode it to kill all the enemies nearby.

it's good that someone still checks the da2 forums to help people out
too bad it's the worst player
