Personally, my guess for the hero(ine) for DA3 is that they are a member of the Seekers, the group that was created by the chantry to watch over the Templars. Bioware said during their panel that they were tossing around the idea that you would be traveling all over an area about four or five times that of Feralden in DA3, and as a seeker, you would have no problem being able to go to those places, like Val Royeaux for instance.

Also, I do not believe that OGB is the new hero for two big reasons. One, is that he would be only ten years old or so at the end of DA2, and two, I believe that Flemeth is truly looking for him, not Morrigan, and that if she finds him, all of Thedas is screwed.

Wouldn't that mean you definitely couldn't be a mage, though? It would also assume you have to take the Chantry's side in the DA3 struggle. I can see the choice of letting you play either a Chantry-supporting Seeker, or a mage/mage-sympathizer.

In the item pack #2, there's a codex entry for the axe named Fiona which states that it belonged to the child's mother and that he fled Ferelden during the Blight.

And I who thought the item packs where just 'robbish', but this sure sounds interesting.

Item Pack 1 had two sets devoted to Malcolm Hawke, and then guess who was a subject of the next story dlc? Maybe they like to sneak in hints with the item packs for future dlc/games. It's a nice bonus for someone willing to drop the cash on it.

I hope in next games we will know more about books characters or their families.

I would be very sad if I had to take the chantry's side. Posted Image

so basically, no DLC, PAX was a bust... nice one BioWare

Um...Did you actually think they were going to officially announce something at 9:30PM on a Saturday night.

Lets try to think with some common logic now. ;)

Why not, not being mean but, do i need to wait another five months for just one dlc? having mw3, bf3, ACR, uncharted 3, and many others like 3 months away , bioware NEEDS to hurry, sorry if i said something wrong english it is not my language. :pinched:

I know what I'm doing in mid to late November already. I think I can complete a playthrough before thanksgiving anyways. That aside I don't think the next dlc will be that far off. At least I hope not, *sighs*

Except for the fact they didn't. Anders did. I get your point, but this has been bugging me since forever. Hawke was advertised as being the single most important person in Thedas' history. The Tethras brothers started the expedition, Aveline (combined with Meredith and Orsino) would more than likely have gotten rid of the Qunari threat by the end of Act II, and as we clearly have seen, Anders has been perfectly able to start the end events of Act III without any help whatsoever. Tell me again why Hawke is the most important figure, and not one of the companions?

Eh. Bitterness took over. Not to mention how the above rant is for another thread.

And then there's the whole warden kerfuffle. I accept that the Warden's story is finished. That's fine. DA:2 is a new game, new goals (such as they are). But then Bioware sticks a sentence in at the very end of the game "he's gone; just like the Warden". I didn't bring the Warden back into the mix. The people who made the game did. And now they're annoyed that they have to spend all this time stomping out rumors about whether the Warden will be a PC or an NPC, etc., but they did this to themselves.

I honestly couldn't agree more. I too would have been perfectly satisfied with Origins beind the end of the Warden's tale, had it not been for Teagan and Leliana's tidbits. I'm thinking BioWare themselves had no idea what they wanted to do with the Warden, or if they even wanted to do anything at all, and just snuck those lines in as a safe mechanism.

Don't get me wrong here; I love BioWare to pieces, but this whole thing plus the PAX shenanigans has gotten me scratching my head way more than my scalp can handle.

That axe belonged to the Warden Commander of Ferelden, however, not to Fiona. So the mother who was referenced there is not our lovely elven mage. Her name was... Po... Po... Po-something. I forgot. 'Fiona' had managed to draw quite a few squee's from me, before I read that tidbit.

Nope. It is only for those in attendance.

But after that someone said it was in fact being filmed.

I believe what you're referring to was a forum attendee who was generous enough to try and film the panel for those of us who couldn't make it. Mike Laidlaw made the request not to record the event, however, so unfortunately it didn't work out.

That was me and I'm 95% sure that right after that, he said they were going to record it themselves. I might have misunderstood, but I don't think I did.

The biggest news I took from what was reported at PAX is that Maric had a second child-I didn't end the Theirin line by letting Anora execute Alistair. I wouldn't be surprised to see the 2nd Theirin child be the protagonist and set up a showdown between him/her and Anora and possibly my Warden/King Consort(if he reappears).

They confirmed this? I hadn't seen anything about that. I'd be happy if this is true though. Ever since The Calling, I've wondered if there was a 3rd Maricspawn out there. I figured there would be, just for an easy way back into a future Ferelden conflict if Alistair died.

I'd be pretty happy playing a Maricspawn, because the book fans never got any closure with the statement that Maric was lost at sea. [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/unsure.png[/smilie] Still, I'd be interested in seeing where they said this at PAX.

It was during the Dragon Age panel. One of the members of the audience asked how many children Maric had, and David Gaider replied, and I quote: "At least two." There's a lot of stuff I may have gotten wrong, but this isn't one of them. You can take that to the bank. B)

There's only two verbatim quotes I wrote down. That was one, and "we are perhaps so inclined" was the other (in response to Hawke and the Warden possibly ever meeting).

Forget I said anything, in that case.
Now please excuse me while I put my inner-squeeling-fangirl back on her leash and go pretend I'm not stalking BioWareTV in the slightest.

Ahh, thanks Occam! Having that confirmed really made my day. I loved Maric in the books, and that bled into Origins where I couldn't help but love Cailain too. It's still vague, but that's no surprise. I always hoped we'd see more of Maric or that possibile child he had with FIona.

LOL. I know where you are coming from; however, all those in Kirkwall see the companions as accessories to Hawke despite them being their own persons, so it wouldn't be a stretch for the rest of the world to see it that way. I was going to go go off on a similiar tangent but contained myself because of non spoiler stuff and being off topic. That aside it will be very interesting to see how it all is viewed in Dragon Age III. :)

I think the point of hawke, was showing why he/she became a figurehead for mages or templars.

It was a huge setup for DAIII, LOL. It gave the rest of Thedas a person to point the finger at. Hawke will forever be viewed as a pivotal person in the battle between chantry and mages; the one who started it all. History is funny that way.

The thing about playing Hawke that was amazing; is when you would come across situations that reflected the decisions the warden had made. I had the opportunity at times to think wth was the warden thinking, it was odd to second guess your decisions you had made as a warden. Ah, fun times. I look forward to experiencing the same in DAIII.

It would be cool if  Hawke actually DID cause the war. I think the word "bystander" has crossed this forum way too many times to be ignored!<_<

No matter how you handle Anders in DA2 he is forever going to be Hawke's companion. Of course I blame Varric for painting it that way, but that's just me. LOL. "All I want to do is sit in my estate and drink wine. Why do these people keep knocking on my door?"

It all goes back to how a "leader" is viewed. A leader is held responsible for those he leads. Argue all you want about how you felt like you weren't in charge but that isn't how it looked from the outside. "There goes Hawke and his crazies. You would think a nobleman would be more careful about who he associates with, but I guess we shouldn't be surprised since he was raised in Ferelden."

Ooops sorry I slipped away into my own creativity. Posted Image

No, I also roleplay it as that.
Random Noble: The new scion of the Amell family really hangs out with dubious people.
Other Noble: She is Fereldan.

And I'm sick  and tired of unskilled people taking up jobs they can't do good. Brent Knowles didn't have problems like these, now have  he? He was the real Lead designer. Laidlaw is EA puppet, and EA games is like a Blight upon a gamers world. They destroy everything they touch!

Well that's the problem, isn't it?
I have to use my imagination to create a story and character I would like. Why would I bother playing the game than? I could just write my own novel about DA 2 and be done with it. I had no need for that in DAO. Back than, magnificent Bioware team did that for me. ;)

You see this, World? Do you see how kids are these days? Simple mined people with no imagination, This is why BW can't make political choiches and arguments in their games b/c of people like this one.

No it isn't. And actually I felt that Bioware controlled the Hawke environment with such a firm hand that there is much less room for creativity than there was in Dragon Age Origins. Again sliding off topic.

-----------------------

Trying to get back on topic, waiting on the remainder of the Dragon Age Story is going to drive me nuts, but every little piece of news keeps me from getting too into something else. I get a new game and play it quickly just so I can get back to dragon age. I'm almost wishing that there would be a panel near me so I could go and see it. This is very unlike me! LOL.

Just me, or those t-shirts in PAX are pointless? I imagine they are like "Muahah, nobody know these words don't mean **** for future content! Just trolling with them.."
