I think it's just a reiteration of what they said earlier in the month. About the main PC for each of the DA games. In Origins, it was the Warden, in DA2, Hawke. Come game three, it'll be a brand new protagonist. Hawke and Warden may have their parts to play, but the PC will not be them.

Dunno how you read that into it. I read it as the wardens story is done and you wont see him/her again.

"The Warden as a protagonist is done.." This doesn't mean we wont encounter them ever again. And to all those who's Wardens died in Origins, they're likely to use the Orlesion Warden instead.

That's how I read into it.

I can see it as a Boss Fight against Morrigan whose mind controlling the warden. This is of course assuming your Warden went with her at the end of Witch Hunt.

The warden not being protagonist again isn't really news, we knew as much since before Gamescom, and their being done "as a protagonist" doesn't contradict Fernando Melo's saying we'll likely hear about -or even see- them again in future.

Well we've still got more DA2 content to go yet, I imagine that's all he meant.

Not really. It means DLC is on the table for DA2.
