I'd imagine he'd have a hard time doing anything after being burned on a funeral pyre. Posted Image

Yours - maybe. My Hero of Ferelden is healthy and alive and she happily fights Darkspawn. Hmmm. I hope there will be a chance to kill Hawke. Oh pleasepleaseplease his killer is our Hero of Ferleden or Orlais Grey Warden

I've fallen in love with you. But joking aside, here's a few things that I liked what I read

SirOccam wrote...
The first question was about the chance of Hawke and the Warden ever meeting. David Gaider split that up into two questions: 1) Will each be a PC or NPC, and 2) will they meet. To the first, he implied that the Warden would likely not return as a PC, but Hawke would (I assume this means in further DLC). As to the meeting, Gaider said they are "perhaps so inclined." So what I came away with was that they will meet, with Hawke as the PC, and the Warden as an NPC. Or perhaps it will happen off-screen. Just my speculation...they didn't promise any of that.

I really like this. More like love it. The Warden is more of a legend to me, and seeing my warden or people talking highly of him. He's an icon, a bloody hero. I can't see myself as the warden running around doing "fetch me this" quests. My Warden should be doing greater things like that. I I like that Hawke's story isn't over and we'll get to play him again as the PC. That's not b/c I wan't him to do fetch me quest, but I really like Hawke as a character, as a person, and I hope I can continue with Merrill at my sde.

And Hawke meeting with the Warden is just AWESOME. No seriously, be it on scren or off scren either way it's super cool.

The second question was about the huge portions of Thedas they showed us, indicating where they want to take us. He wondered if a single player cRPG could handle so much area, or would it have to be something like an MMO? The answer: Yes, a single player cRPG can handle so much area. We won't necessarily travel everywhere all in the course of a single game, unless there's a good reason for it.

Sounds really cool, but not a MMO, please.

* Maric has "at least two" children, according to David Gaider.

Since Marric is one of my favourite characters, this is just awesome. But it comes down to how they make this. It can turn out really good, or turn out badly. I hope for the first.

Well, my Hero Of Ferelden had a good run and her tale ended just nicely. Whatever I want to change will be via FF. And Hawke's story is clearly far from over. So if he/she won't be in DA3, there better be DLC and at least one expansion (Main campaign enhancing, not a new one like Awakening. Like Tribunal for Morrowind) to finish Hawke's tale.

As much as I adore my Warden and would cheer at the thought of her return, what's there to finish, really?
The Warden stopped the Blight and either died or lived. If the latter, they may have succesfully re-established the Wardens in Ferelden, gone to travel, gained title and riches, went back to their family, left with Morrigan or took up a position to advise Ferelden's monarch.

No matter how I may pout as I write the following, that does sound pretty conclusive.

In fact, were it not for Teagan's 'The Hero of Ferelden should be back in Denerim by now.' and Leliana and Cassandra's 'The Warden disappeared too! That's no coincidence!', I would have had no problem accepting the Warden's tale is over.

On another note; am I alone in my assumption there will be a DLC featuring Maric (whether in-person or not)? What with many of the lore behind Item Pack #2's items being about characters and events from The Stolen Throne, and with the tidbit that Maric disappeared while traveling to the Free Marches?

I agree with the bolded part. It will be much cooler hearing of deeds that my warden is doing than doing them yorself (and doing side quest along the way).

Why do I suspect flemeth has something to do with these disappearances..

I dont particularly want to play the warden, again. I want to see a cameo (maybe in a suit of armour?)As far as I'm concerned my warden defeated the blight, became warden commander, then left for a showdown in antiva, then went and said goodbye to morrigan and got a book.

Come to think of it...Does anyone know the importance of that book?

They showed a picture of Morrigan! Um, so yeah, there's that. I later heard Mike Laidlaw reiterate his "we're not done with Morrigan" line, which was nice because I'm sure many of us thought that just referred to Witch Hunt.

Was it a picture of Origins Morrigan or some abomination of a facemorph of Morrigan from DA2?

Meh...I don't really see how or why the Warden and Hawke would meet within the scope of a DLC really. Unless they just stick a bucket over the Warden's head but at that point that seems like a waste. I really wish they'd adopt a more Witcher like stance of showing things and not telling- so if the Warden (or any other important past PC) is off doing something story relevant in the future, let us play as that PC for a bit. Not unlike how you could play as non Geralt characters for little stretches in TW2.

That, and if BioWare is truly intent on having the revolving door of player characters, they seriously need to drop the ****ty cliffhanger endings which fail to resolve anything and simply leave more questions than answers. If you're going to have every game with a new PC, I'd prefer it if they offered solid closure for that PC. And quite frankly I'd prefer they just go for completely new characters from game to game and at most just reference old companions but not bring them back, lest that essentially retcon how the prior games ended with the old PC's companions. Like bringing Morrigan back without the Warden or something.

* The change in Anders' personality, according to DG, could probably have used some kind of intermediary step, but it was something DG liked. Returning characters need to evolve, so if they come back, they too might be different.

Meh...I agree they needed more of a transition from Awakening Anders to DA2 Anders. But especially considering it'll be a different PC here on out, it seems they'll just bring back old companions and have them pull some 180 off screen to "evolve" them. When I think its more interesting to see a character develop from the POV of one character. Cause meeting Morrigan or Sten as a new PC will make them a totally different character anyway, for instance, since you're ditching the relationship they had with the Warden.

I agree with you that the Warden as a PC is over. And as for the book, well I hope that players that went with Morrigan gets something special and players that stayed and took the book gets something special. Both being unique quests, not merged into one. As for players who didn't play it, well I dunno. Maybe they'll get to choose between dialog option or something.

Please no! I hated it when in TW2 I had to play as someone else (which was not a rare occurance). Some of that may be cool, but it just took me out of my immersion. I only want to be the protagonist and not anybody, unless gameplay dictates it (even then, I think it should be short - like the escape from fort Drakon)
But yes, I completely agree on what you said about cliffhanger endings. If you think of it DA2 answered NOT ONE of our questions on the lore/story. Instead, it only presented us with new ones. ARGH!

No thanks, i don't want to dedicate my entire time playing to hunting down Darkspawn. I want to see Thedas and see what kind of trouble i can stir up. Have fun dying in a cramp tunnel to the taint Warden.

THEY GAVE US CONCLUSION TO THE WARDEN. My warden died making the ultimate sacrifice like an actual hero.

You guys are making us backtrack just because you're not able to let go of him/her

Like Varric says, the hero always dies in any good story. That's why I almost always killed off my Wardens; it just seemed like the proper ending. At the start of the tale, Duncan saves her from certain death, and at the end of the story she proves that his confidence in her was well-founded by giving herself up to save the friggin' world. To me that's a perfect ending.

But I respect that that's not everyone's idea of a good story. Some people's idea of a good story has their Warden still alive and kicking, and I totally get why they'd be frustrated by not having a conclusion to that story. I could throw in a caveat about how it's really always the writers' story anyway, but it's all been said before.

When anyone mentions the Warden returning in any form other than a hearsay comment from an NPC, I have to post letter from Mike Laidlaw.  Also note what the mod says in hte very next post.  I have my doubts that we will every see the Warden again in any form, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't bug the hell out of them about it.

No, it's not.  They didn't give us the conclusion to the warden. They decided it was done, without solving the many issues and all the doors they opened. I understand what you say, but let's be accurate and do not unnecessarily reject the blame on the fans, thank you. ;)

What issues didn't they solve? Did they not release an expansion where the Warden is in their senior years in a nursing home?

As far as I'm aware my Warden is still very much alive and his/her stories is still going on since every time Hawke meets Alistair at the end Teagan says something along the lines that the Hero of Ferelden should be back in Denerim.
