I'm going buy & crack on ME3.
I hope it won't take too long until a crack comes out for the CE.
ME3 is the last EA game I'll ever buy.

My only hope now is that Bioware will pull a Gandalf on Origin. Image IPB

I have Origins installed right now. It gave me powers. I can infect your computers with spyware, malware, bioware, hardware and viruses just by thinking about it.

Something that needs to be said after reading a few pages of this thread, because some people don't seem to get it at all, on both sides of the argument.

HAVING AN ORIGIN ACCOUNT IS NOT THE SAME THING HAS HAVING TO INSTALL THE ORIGIN SPYWARE.

I won't be buying, installing, or playing ME3 if it requires the installation of Origin for any purpose.

(Unless it is proven that Origin can be 100% effectively "sandboxed" without interfering with the game.)

I own both ME1 and 2 on Steam and usually all my PC game purchases are made via Steam. One might argue that Steam isn't that much better than Origin... but oh well, I have a ton of games there and my friends use it and none of us wants to usw another download platform and especially not one that is such a piece of **** like Origin. So for the sake of the game and all ME fans I really hope that Bioware/EA will release the retail version without Origin being required and also a Steam version. Because I will never use Origin and I'm not missing out on ME3 either. Do the math...

I guarantee it'll work like this;

You validate the game via Origin upon installation.

You won't have to be logged into Origin while playing SP.
You will have to be logged into Origin while playing MP.

Well that I know you can do. Hell Avast can do it.

Well, I'll wait for the reviews and demo before I decide if it's worth the trouble.

Origin or not, SWTOR will not come through the doors of this house in any software form. I want KOTOR finished or make do with books & such. Key issue is MMORPG, which remains an oxymoron in itself to me no matter how many articles I read & trailers I see. RPG requires more of a story than this new crud. MP added to ME3?!!! Man, it better not soak too much disc content, but if Origin makes this all moot, it could make nice wall deco at least. Also, this DLC thread has me mulling a bit.

Just a little Off-topic.
Contrary to many people I don't miss a 3rd KOTOR, I think that the story was pretty concluded, while KOTOR2 had an open ending I think that the story could not progress futher (Yeah, may sound contradictory), but demanding a sequel to KOTOR2 in my opinion is like asking for the adventures of Frodo at Valino.
What's more.... I think that the story of KOTOR should have ended at KOTOR1, the sequels story I found to be very "forced" and out of place.

Even if I want the game I won't, giving money them is what they want, call them whatever you wnat but giving them money is what counts, the excuse of not buying more EA games is not enough (for me)

There will be ways to avoid this Origin-BS. Problem is, EA doesn't care about that.

It would be best when nobody buys ME3 because of Origin - that's the only way to teach EA a lesson. We obviously don't want to punish Bioware for creating a great game, so we start a PayPal account to donate money to Bioware to show our respect and love of the game. At the end of the day, we play our favorite game, EA gets nothing, but Bioware (the actual creators) is still rewarded for their work. A Win-Win situation for everyone except EA (but who cares about those lunatics anyway)

I'd love to have a way to get ME3, send the money to Bioware, but not buy it from EA and not install Origin at all.

Mass Effect 3 is my most anticipated game ever. However, if Origin is required to install Mass Effect 3, I will refuse to buy the game. I don't want to live in a cyber punk dystopia where the corporations know and control all their consumers.

But if Origin is only required for the multiplayer, than I'll buy it.

Thing is. Cracking a game using Origin usually means you still have to install Origin. Only thing that's different is you'll create a fake offline account using an offline installer to bypass the online authorisation process. This in turn means you probably can't use your own legitimately bought game which means no ingame CE items either.

Earlier in this thread, someone posted something on how to effectively firewall Origin from sharing data about your pc, hope there's other methods out there.

Like you I really want ME3 and so I'll put up with Origin this once (although on my terms only), but after that I will not be buying any more EA games if Origin is required to install or play.

Probably. I expect all future EA games to require an Origins install to register/unlock games once.

To me its mainly a form of DRM. And as long as there are dishonest people around, we will require locks and DRM.
I understand why they will use it too when games like the Football Manager series have 4 pirate copies to 1 legally bought copy.

The problem is with that Siven80 that the pirates don't have to put up with the DRM because it is stripped from the pirated release. The only people who have to put up with the DRM are those people who actually buy the game.

It's like the unskippable anti-piracy adverts at the start of DVDs. The only people who seem them are the ones with the genuine discs.

yes,I can block Origin, but then again, there is nothing preventing me from uninstall this Spyware after I cracked the game. Origin is not only a "legal" Spyware, but it's also a waste of hard-disk memory.
In their war against piracy, EA forces honest gamers to pirate just to protect their privacy.
I'll make do without the CE ingame items, or I'll pirate them. My right. I pre-orderd the CE.
EA has nothing to say against it. EA and Bioware got my money. they won't infect my PC with their sh!t, though.
