I tried out the DA2 PC demo and wanted to know if the camera behaved in the same manner excluding the top down view? If so is there a way to pin the camera behind the player? In the demo I changed the movement controls to WASD since that is what I'm used to. Any other control other than right mouse key that works better for the camera if there is no way to pin behind player? If there was a way to bind A and D for player and camera that might work. Thx.

You are in the wrong forum. This is the PC technical support forum for Dragon Age Origins. DA2 features including the camera are explained on the official DA2 page. Questions regarding the DA2 demo should be posted in the DA2 demo forum.

No, I wanted to know if DAO behaved in the same manner as the DA2 demo. Read my post more carefully.

Your post was unclear as DAO is not mentioned even once. WASD are the standard movement keys for both games. Camera position can be moved from over the PC's shoulder to overhead view from various distances in both. The overhead camera is detachable in DAO, but not in DA2, giving a larger possible view of the area. In both games, camera location is controlled by either using the page up and page down keys to change the camera angle. The scroll on the mouse allows you to shift between the over the shoulder view and the overhead view and to control how far zoomed out you are. If you had to reset those controls in the demo, you probably have anti-keylogging software that is interfering with the key mapping in the game.

Since I posted the question in the DAO forum it should be self evident imho. Regardless I've switched back to the defaults where the camera is controlled by A and D. Moving the player left or right uses Q and E in the demo but when you move forward with the W key the camera centers behind the player which is what I wanted. However when I set the camera to show the horizon it moves back above the player when I start to move forward which is annoying. May just need to buy a used copy of the game so I can return it if I can't stand the controls.

If you saw the number of posters who go to the wrong forum and/or completely bypass dozens of answers to their question, you would understand why it was not obvious.
