You're right except for the Council part. Shepard never was an asset for the council.

Yes he was, or the Council wanted him to be at least. If you play a Paragon you are a total Council patsy.

"They want you on their side." - Anderson

My Paragon Shepard never was a council patsy. My Shepard doesn't take a side, he's just a neutral problem-solver who solves problems.

But in the end, IF Shepard is forced to pick a side, he'll side with humanity (yes, with humanity, NOT with Cerberus).

Read the rest of my comment before you reply and see how you're wrong. Shepard never is a council patsy unless you roleplay him as such.

@ Dean
Oh I understand the necessity of such arrangements, but they're not the practices of a great and trusted ally like the dogs up there seem to think Cerberus is. I'll believe that Tali can bench press Wrex unaided before I'll believe a word that comes out of Miranda, let alone TIM

So... not only were you entirely wrong about your definition of allies, but you'd rather reflexively ignore provable facts rather than uncomfortable truths?

Which is rather impressive, because TIM lies by omission, not fabrication. He's a classical manipulator by allowing people to make their own assumptions, but he rarely tells lies.

Teltin, Akuze, and who knows what else haven't destroyed lives?

And Cerberus were introduced to us in the first game as a human supremacist group.

No, I'm not. They're not a threat. They never have been. They are a force for good in the galaxy.

If anything you are blinded by your own idealism. You have your damn head in the clouds. I don't have any respect for people so detached from reality.

Cerberus is our enemy in ME3 They are trying to kill Shepard who is trying to stop the Reapers. They are a threat, they are our enemy and they have never been a force for good.

The fact you want to turn humans into paste to feed humanities killers is enough for me to tell that you are the one that is detached from reality.

You're full of it.

Davie McG wrote...

And he wouldn't have been a problem at all if cerberus hasn't been conducting cruel and naive experiments on him.

Cruel or not, those experiments needed to be done. Everything was fine until the turians kicked in the door. Thankfully Cerberus was on top of its game so it managed to rectify the situation.

Davie McG wrote...

And why might I ask are you singing the praises of the Cerberus operative tasked with the assassination of Shepard?

He's a patriot and one hell of a good agent.

1. There's no need for insults. You quoted one line of my post and went on as if I had just made a statement without giving evidence.

2. Those experiments likely got them indoctrinated (hence them being bad guys in ME3).

3. Patriotism? He's trying to kill Humanities greatest Hero, if anything his actions are traitorous.

Edit there was a 3 but I deleted it and forgot to change the 4 to a 3.

Maybe, maybe not. They are still experiments htat need to be carried out.

A little humility would be welcome.

Somebody opposing Shepard does not make them evil or unlikable or unsympathetic.

That's meta-gaming.

Does Anderson have a time machine or something?

Cerberus is our enemy in ME3 They are trying to kill Shepard who is trying to stop the Reapers. They are a threat, they are our enemy and they have never been a force for good.

They are not, however, an enemy in ME2. Or in Retribution. They really weren't even one in ME1 either. Let's not confuse the unknown future (Cerberu's abrupt turn-around in ME3) from its prior history (one of consistent opposition to the Reapers and a non-adversarial posturing to Shepard).

The fact you want to turn humans into paste to feed humanities killers is enough for me to tell that you are the one that is detached from reality.

Cerberus gets the drama-shock treatment to ridiculously silly levels, but there's nothing they do that hasn't been done conceptually by, well, any major established government. The Grayson and Overlord experiments especially (though even Overlord's was Archer's initiative, not a directive from Cerberus).

Aside from the obvious final choice, the Council probably prefers Renegade Shep.  He's an excellent replacement for Saren, their previous top agent.

What makes him a patriot is his politics and his loyalty to Cerberus.

Oh, this has nothing to do with Cerberus. Your tastes are just a bit creepy.

I mean, where do you get the images? Do you hack security cameras? Or simply computer/cellphone camers? How many pictures do you enjoy?

Do you try and arrange the paddles for them?

I see, so your answer is simply insults.

I can understand wanting to support human interests. I reject any approach that involves climbing over the dead and betrayed to do so. The ends do NOT justify the means.

Shepard thinks so. There's not 300,000 Batarians anymore to prove it.

Oh good grief.

Both the paragons and renegade choices are realistic.

Stop trying to tear the other down to make your choices look more valid. They're all equally valid. Even if some are dumber than others.

This is a sentance fragment that makes no sense.

And Cerberus were introduced to us in the first game as a human supremacist group.

Not really. They were introduced to us in the first game as a rogue special ops group, and their targets were what they believed to be non-sentient alien creatures and humans.

Cerberus has never actually carried the mantal of a racist organization: there's only been on racist Cerberus character to date (Kai Leng), while the rest have been xenonationalists.

Actually you might as well stop trying. Your trolling is not having the desired effect.

Actually, it's having it's entirely intended effect: making this all irreversably silly.

The Reapers didn't leave their toys like Object Rho behind because they were careless.  It was a part of their plan to bring more people under indoctrination before they even arrive.  Using or studying any form of their tech is walking right into their hands.  Sovereign and Vigil made it clear that it is because our technology is based on theirs that they win every time.  Literally every single time someone has dabbled in Reaper technology you end up in a husks rail shooter.    The only way we can win against the Reapers is to find other ways that don't involve injecting Reaper nanobots into people.  Paul Grayson was just the latest example in a long line of Cerberus screw ups.
