PS3 and if there will be a way to transfer my character status, etc from XBox to
the PS3 if I choose to purchase it on the other platform?
Thanks!

At the moment, there's no telling what the difference is between the PS3, 360, and PC versions of ME3. If it helps any, all of the videos of demo playthroughs you've seen on various websites were played on a 360 (IIRC. If I'm wrong, someone please correct me).
As for transferring saves, it's highly unlikely.

I don't think there will be an official way to transfer between the different platforms for Sony and Microsoft would have to agree to help develop it for you would have to translate between the different pieces of hardware.

I do know that the ME2 for PS3 featured a suped up game engine and all the DLCs (except Arrival), but there is NO way to transfer info from the XBox to the Playstation.
They used the ME3 engine so they wouldn't have to modify the ME2 engine to work on the PS3, at least thats what I understand.

Was that "Mass Effect 3" engine ME2 had noticeably different from the Xbox 360 version? I never got to see it personally since, unfortunately, I don't have a PS3 but the Xbox 360 and PS3 seemed to look identical from the few comparison pictures I'd seen.Abispa wrote...

Imo I think only the pc might have better graphics.

They'll probably have relatively similar graphics.
PS3 will probably have fewer discs, because it's got more space available on each disc.
ME1 is an XBox exclusive, so all the little things from ME1 that may or may not show up and have some measure of impact on the events of ME3 will only be available on XBox.
And then there's the PC, which also has ME1 and may or may not have PC-specific upgrades like DirectX 11 support and a high-resolution texture pack (like Dragon Age 2).

For the time being, sure. Don't be surprised if the PS3 does eventually end up with (an equivalent of) Mass 1, though.Quole wrote...

Very doubtful. Microsoft have shown no signs whatsoever as of yet, of letting go of their exclusive console publishing rights to ME1 - and really, they have no need to.

Uh.... except for all the people like me who bought the PC version of Mass Effect (and got Bring Down The Sky free!), and have one or more imports into Mass Effect 2 that they'll carry on to Mass Effect 3.

Well, that's just the devs talking. Remember when they said ME2 on PS3 uses the ME3 engine? yeah, that's because both ME2 and ME3 use the same engine on all platforms. BioWare devs like to enhance the truth.Someone With Mass wrote...

But I guess they're right in this case. I personally didn't play much on consoles this generation and I honestly can't tell the difference between the 360 and the PS3 (except for the controller). I bet the quality will be similar.
