I personally think Garrus should become a Spectre at some point in ME3. Possibly as a personal mission for him. He's proven he's got the skills and the turians probably need to rebolster their ranks in the Spectres since they've lost 2 of their best agents in the past two years. (Saren & Nihilus)

Thoughts?

I think that limelight is being reserved for the VS, unfortunately. Besides, having not spent the last two to three years onthe Citadel, Garrus probably doesn't want to have anything to do with C-Sec/SPECTRES any more. He's seen what life is like in the Terminus Systems and realises just how little influence the Council and their SPECTRES have on the rest of the galaxy. He's more interested in helping Shepard stop the Reapers than anything else.

I'm still fingers crossed that the direction you pushed him in ME1 and ME2 has a bearing on his story in ME3.

Would love to see the hardening of Mr Alenko take affect too.

Too bad. It makes sense that humanity would put a second Spectre into their ranks. So I have no problem with it. But Garrus' skills are far supperior than the VS imo. It just seems he should deserve the honor if he still wanted it. He more than deserves it in my eyes after his work on Omega.

I think Garrus may have the skills, but he doesn't have the mindset. The first signs of that were in ME1, but he could be changed to ease up a bit and join C-Sec or apply for spectre training. Unfortunately all of that was gone in ME2 and he took the law in his own hands. To me that cannot be defended and means he is unfit as a spectre.

True but I could see him being compliant once he was admited to the Spectres. He'd have the freedom to do things "his" way. If he wasn't so stubborn with people not willing to take risks he could have probably been one by now.

I could see it happening, it seems Spectre's can suggest people for Spectre status to the Council as this was the case with Nihilus in ME1 putting Shepard forward as a potential candidate and was going to review him by accompanying him on missions. So I could see something similar with Shepard and Garrus in ME3, also it would be pretty cool to see Garrus become a Spectre because of Shepards influence in previous games. ^_^

Garrus is borderline Saren 2.0 with his views, honestly.

Well he just hates injustice and the lack of people willing to make the hard decisions. He isn't racist against humans or any race for that matter like Saren was.....and he doesn't have any cybernetic implants..XD

Did Nihilus act on his on behalf or was he sent to recruit spectres? It's not clear to me which of the two was the case.

Edit: The latter seems to make the most sense.

No problem if Garrus ever got really really out hand we could talk to him maybe not convince him to shoot himself like Saren but just sort him out lol. :P

I think it would be possible for Shepard to suggest him as a candidate after all the Council did listen to his choice on who should be a Council member at the end in ME1 though that was a bit of a unique situation.

That's a better argument. ;)

Choosing a Councilor seems like a much bigger deal than choosing a Spectre. So if Shepard suggested Garrus to the Council I feel like they'd definately take it under serious consideration

Saren wasn't really racist either, that's just Anderson's biased opinion of him. If you want to understand Saren a little better, I'd recommend reading the Revelation novel.

I did read the Revelation novel. I just assumed Saren became racist of humans because he blamed them for his brother going insane and stuff. I do love Saren tho. He was cool. Such a shame he can't be around for ME3

I would like it to be one possible ending to Garrus' story.

I agree...as much as I really like Garrus and would hate to see it happen, if there's a chance he could be made a Spectre there should be an equal chance that he gets killed in the course of the Game.

I don't think Garrus needs to become a Spectre, but he easily has the skills required. However +1 to the idea about Shepard recommending him to the council. That would be a nice touch indeed.

While "You humans need to learn your place" might not be racist that is discrimination.
