How does flirting with Averline impact on other relationships?   Would it scupper a romance with Sebastian?  Would it finish a romance with Fenris if you flirt between him walking out and your reconciliation.  Never been quite clear how the Averline flirting works since she doesn't appear to be a real romance.

I don't believe that there is any impact from choosing the flirt options with Aveline. Well, other than to show how blissfully unaware she is of Hawke's affection and attention. (Which may in turn secretly amuse the other companions.) I think the dialogue options are there for the sake of that quest's narrative, but not to make/break Hawke's relationship with anyone else.

I don't know about Sebastian but flirting with Aveline doesn't effect your relationship with Fenris.

None of your companions like when you flirt with Averline. They all react in various passive-aggressive ways.

1. Anders gets so angry with you he blows up the Chantry with the Grand Cleric in it.
2. Aveline hits you (not so passive-aggressive)
3. Isabela leaves
4. Merril slaughters her entire clan
5. Fenris kills his family
6. Varric kills his brother.
7. Sebastian returns to Starkhaven and vows revenge upon you.

On the other hand, flirting with Aveline has no such downside. It can be a lot of fun.

Flirting with Aveline has no concequences, beyond breaking up her relationship with Donic if you flirt with her in front of him (End of The Long Road).

She cannot be romanced. Flirting with her has no effect. She is adorably and obliviously unaware that you -are in fact- flirting with her. Though if you're a sarcastic Hawke, so long as you don't do the very last flirt option, in front of Donnic, she will kiss you. On the lips. Man or woman. But, its a "thanks for getting me a boyfriend, you're the best sister/brother EVAR" kiss, not a  "I luv u" kiss

ahhh I wondered how you got the kiss.  I've never been able to do it in my runs.  And my current Hawkistair is a snarky/charming fellow   Gonna try that this time!

Who's Averline?

It's too bad Aveline wasn't a possible LI; she's one of very few "normal" people in the game.

I don't think it does; at least, it didn't for me. I was trying to rivalmance Sebastian, and tried everything to make him angry, including going to the Blooming Rose and purchasing the...wares...and he didn't even care. I'd read somewhere that that was something that would cause rivalry, but it didn't work with him.

Apparently I'm too nice, because I never got him to 100% rivalry. *sigh*
