I would rather remember ME as a great series, and have Bioware move onto something new.
Traditionally, they've never been a company that uses one IP for very long, be it their own or leased, but since EA acquired them, perhaps they'll just keep producing ME and DA games forever more now.
Yay, can't wait for ME15 in 12 years...

That said its the end of the reapers and Shepards story so I personally don't care. I'll probably check it out but chances are its going to have Multiplayer being a main focus.

The Reapers were a joke. There is something out there MUCH worse, and now it is coming for all of us. You must stop it in ME4/5/6.
Then, after that:
Oh, yeah, that was also a joke. Now, something EVEN WORSE is coming for us. You must stop it in ME7/8/9.
etc.

They've already said their making more games in the universe.
All I've seen them say are things to the effect that the IP will keep developing. Which could mean more comic books, Facebook games, etc.

Neither do I but its to soon to call them on it. Their next game can be anything. My guess is some Coop style FPS or TPS that has a ragtag group of mercenaries taking various missions. None of which have anything to do with a galactic threat like the Reapers. Not everything has to be some big end of the world type thing.
Honestly they deliver on ME3 and after that they can do whatever they want with the IP. It'll be the end of Shepard's story and if what they do after sucks it wont touch him.

A DICE developed Battlefield game for example, would probably be quite a possibility.
And no - not every game has to be a world ending thing - but it's VERY hard to transition from a world ending thing to a non world ending thing (see DA:O vs DA2 - you'll find that most didn't really care for the overarching plot of DA2, even ignoring its incredibly poor implementation and utter lack of player agency).
I guess we'll see how Halo 4 does on the plot side of things first...Im not expecting much...

In particular, they shouldn't let concerns about continuity with future games stop your decisions from having major, setting altering consequences. And the ending should obviously be a proper ending, not a sequel hook.
However, once ME3 is done there's no reason why they shouldn't set future games in the Mass Effect Universe.

It's not hard at all. Babylon 5 did it exceptionally by resolving the Shadow war, but showing how it left the political landscape scarred and full of trouble. That's not to say it didn't have some flaws of its own, so no need for BSN to get all hyperbolic vitriol on this.Boiny Bunny wrote...

You just had to go all negative on that, didn't you
I guess the DA:O to DA2 experience would be a bit disheartening.

Action/shooter games, live and breathe epic world ending warfare. As soon as you take the Master Chief and turn him into a police officer investigating corruption on the force, everybody loses interest immediately.
It seems to me, that it is only the more hardcore Bioware fans, who actually read the codex and care about the lore of the ME universe, who would be interested in another game that is not about aliens/machines ending the world.

Heh, yes there is some small part of me that would love to see what happens to the Chief and Cortana next...but it destroys the ending that Halo 3 had.
To me, making a Halo 4 is kind of like making the movie 'Titanic 2'.
It's just a sequel to a completely concluded story, that should never have been made, and is only being made, for money. Ah, I don't want to derail this thread though. Time will tell about Halo 4 I guess!

Yeah, and that's seriously not the case with Mass Effect, right?
