You know, maybe Saren's idea wasn't so crazy after all. After all, nobody knows how to actually beat the Reapers.

Hell, even BioWare themselves see Cerberus as space naz!s.

Bioware are politically correct ninnies. They don't even let you write the WORD **** on their forum. How gutless is that?

It'll be a cold day in hell before I let such a weak-willed company preach morality at me.

Saren didn't know what The Illusive Man now knows. The Reapers aren't here to exterminate us. They're here to change us. For the better.

Uh, given his whol spiel about becoming a new lifeform, a mixture of machine and organic, I think he had a bit of an idea, yeah.

Shepard. They know you. They wish you to understand. They are shepherds, too.

I don't know what kind of validity this line has any longer, but if it's something that has migrated to ME3 it could be significant in describing the Reapers own mindset about themselves.

I'd love to see what the guy who wrote/is writing the Mass Effect dissertation makes of this. Perhaps it was originally meant to make the player feel sympathy for the Collectors or as a hint to a tragic past before they're revealed as repurposed Protheans.

Really?  That's not the impression I got.  I think he wanted the turians to continue to exist as servants of the Reapers.  Didn't he talk about saving trillions of lives not yet born?  I think he was expecting (or was manipulated to expect) the turians to continue to live and procreate as turians.

Nope. I'm pretty much against everything Bioware preaches in its game so far.

Turning us into Reaper splooge is hardly for the better.

Report Summary
Barla Von, Citadel
I'm afraid we are unable to make any concrete assessment given the limited data at hand. It remains entirely possible that the justicar's ship made contact with Earth while looking for Prothean artifacts. Per your question, the storm that scattered the Spanish Armada was considered extremely powerful for that area, given our climate data, and could conceivably have been generated using fields from the Senshelis' drive core. It is clear that had the storm not scattered the Spanish Armada, the Spanish forces would have regrouped and likely seized power in England within two years.

It remains entirely possible that the justicar had some effect on Earth's political course, but unfortunately, I doubt we'll ever have proof.

What the actual what.

Oh that's just awesome, the shadow broker kept track of us. That's in 1588 during the Spanish "invasion" to England.
I can see why it was ditched, it makes no ****ing sense. Also, Barla Von has the age of Wrex it seems

What this piece seems to hint at is that there is a life for you after you're turned into Reaper splooge.  See how they've described the ship as a collection of many "worlds"?  Is each of those worlds one of the souls that went into the Old God?  The Cerberus team was sharing memories.  This piece talks about remembering "all our lives".

I wouldn't take a brainwashed person's words so seriously. Or literally, for that matter.

Well, you do realize that your playing their game?. And sorry to break it down to you, but "joining" (if being melted is considered as joining) with the enemy is not very popular in videogames, more when you're supposed to be a "hero" and save the galaxy. Or smart at all.

Excuse me If refuse to be the be turned into goo. For the better. Yeah, sure. Go ahead, you first.

Joining the Reapers...craziest thing I have ever heard.

If you're against everything BW does why care to play the game? Honest question.

I wouldn't play a game knowing beforehand that I'll be against how it's designed.

I'd say this thread is right up my alley. I'll tell you what. I'll leave this thread alone if you get back into your element and hop over to some furry forum for fellow My Little Pony fans. Or if not that, at least one of the chans.

I play it for the good game play (you know, the most important part of a game). Another reason is that I've mostly enjoyed the universe they've crafted. So far.

Maybe... maybe that's what indoctrination really is. Sharing of thoughts, ideas and memories. That could explain why individuality is lost, because individuality cannot exist in the "network" the Reapers are connected through. Each person affected is a facet of the whole, and intelligence and sapience is reflected through the whole and not through individuals. That's also why indoctrinated eventually join the Reapers - they "reach consensus" with the whole when connected.

Going further on this idea, maybe the genetic goo isn't a vital part of building a reaper from a hardware point, but a manner for them to gain the memories, experiences and ideas of the species they ascend. Genetic memory, and all that jazz.

F**k, this is good. This is really good.

How does changing us make us better?  If anything changing us prevents us from challenging the reapers position of domination.  That is the real aim isn't it?  Assuming the Reapers are top of the species chain that is.  I would like to think of it being similar to a balanced order.  The reapers on one side and ??????? on the other with us stuck in the middle.  The truth is we dont need their help to become better then we are.

Just a thought.

Oh Saphra, sometimes I get the feeling you're just here to troll all of us.

If by the release of ME3 you'll come out and say: "Hey, you idiots, I've been trolling you all along! Of course I don't support the reapers! But you all fell for it! Trololololo"

Man, that would be the most epic trolling of the year 2011-2012 hands down.

I may not agree with Saphra about plenty of things, but she's entilted to her oppinions.
