Here's the thing, they ruin my game.

I play on Nightmare because I love to micro manage absolutely everything, i like a challenge and i like being able to get through a fight the first time around,
then comes the odd boss fight, which rewrites the rules and leaves me wasting a whole load of hours and having no fun whatsoever.
The Ancient Rock Wraith did it in 2, Coryphaeus is doing it now in Legacy.

The Coryphaues fight runs fine for me up until he raises the rock barriers out of the ground, and at that point your tactics and strategy become irrelevant, because you are at the mercy of the game's iffy squad-move command (xbox360), which some characters seem to intermittently not respond to, and the game's iffy direction mapping, which sends some characters the wrong way into a dead end and instant death by fire.
yes i know i can lower the difficulty to cuasual, but don't you see the discrepancy here?

In legacy i repeated maybe three fights a second time, i'm on attempt number ten for Coryphaeus, and i fall every time in the rocks section due to unresponsive team-mates not running when they're told, or running the wrong way around a rock.
the sudden difficulty spike alone makes these fights zero fun, but the fact that they require sheer perseverence rather than strategy is completely inconsistent with the rest of the game, and then factoring in extra hurdles based on aspects of the programming which are buggy just makes them a hindrance to the whole experience.

i guess i have a couple of questions
1. does anyone here actually A) like these fights while playing on nightmare? B) like these fights at all?
2. bioware will you please stop doing this?

From reading a lot of feedback/discourse on users playing on Nightmare it seems like most people are missing some fairly important facets of the combat system. Once you start using them all it'll feel a lot easier; this is how some of these guys make it so effortless - not from some crazy twitch skill but simply by utilizing everything the game allows and planning ahead.

In short: fire resist resists fire.
