Hello community, I have some great news for you all! I am like many of you trying to get my platinum trophy and screwed over by the Master Warden and Blight-Queller trophies. After many trials and errors and a heaping helping of research I have made a discovery! The trophy is not bugged at all, it is just not properly worded!

The darkspawn counter that shows the number killed in your heroic accomplishments counts kills made by all characters, whereas the counter for the trophy counts ONLY kills made by your player-created character WHILE being controlled by you.

So for instance if your character makes a kill while you are controlling Alistair that will not count towards the trophy, but will count towards the Heroic Accomplishments.

The easiest way to get the trophy is to get to the Final Battle, and after the first battle area when you talk to Riordan to choose your party, choose to take ONLY yourself into battle.

1.) Immediately travel to the Alienage
2.) Tell the elves to leave
3.) Turn the difficulty to Casual
4.) Save
5.) Clear out all darkspawn
6.) Travel to Palace District
7.) Defeat short battle with party members left behind
8.) Clear out all darkspawn in Palace District
9.) Reload at Alienage
10.) Rinse and repeat!

~Note~ If you die fighting darkspawn, it is not a big deal, the counter WILL count the kills you made before you died.
~Note~ This is easily done with a Mage character with AOE spells, but can also be done with any other class.

I have confirmed this myself (On PS3 only, but I am relatively sure it will work the same on Xbox) with all updates and DLC applied, never deleted or reinstalled anything.

Been posted here quite a few times. It's just a pain in the buttox, especially if you forget it has to be the Warden and not just a character controlled by you.

It's even easier if you play on casual and basically solo everywhere there is darkspawn. Otherwise, you may have to play this part over a dozen times. Thankfully this area has 50+ darkspawn. Really you only need to repeat the alienage due to that. Well, that's the method quite a few people have posted as working.

Would be smart too in general to set Wayne to pure healer, no attacking. That healing can come in handy depending on your build.

Curious, has anynoe got it to unlock without doing this in one long sitting? Curious if restarting your PS3 messes up the counter or not.

thanks for the post torontodioso! i have every trophy except for these 2 (and plat....) and was hoping that i didn't have to erase everything and play through another 50 hours or so just because of a glitch.

i'm going to try your method. let's hope i can get it to work for me too!

EDIT: one quick question; do you have to save after the palace district? or just reload the alienage? (i'm guessing there is an auto-save that maybe takes care of the stats?)

Just reload. I recommend not doing the palace district. It's far faster to just play the alienage over and over, especially if you're a mage.

Save in alienage. Kill all the darkspawn solo. Reload from save.

I got master warden last night then blight queller and PLATINUM this morning. Thanks a ton for the help. I did the alienage and the palace district with my rogue - just because I like that zone for some reason. I ended up with 151 DS kills from both per run.

glad to know that there isnt a problem with this as i love to get everything in the game, im a late starter to the series and am at landsmeet i noticed at 500 or so that i only got the 100ds kill one but not the 500 i will have to try this out so just save before the alienage and then reload that save or is it an autosave at the ailenage?

There's an autosave, but I agree with teh OP in saving after you tell the elves to flee. Helps speed this up.

while finishing the main story i managed to get the 500 kills one when i go through my second play through i will pick up the blight queller thanks again for the solution many thanks

This worked also for me, after more than a year I picked DA up again to grind one last trophy - the Blight-Queller, and thanks to this guide I finally managed to do it! Not to mention I owe you the platinum as well Thanks very much tontoodioso!

I got Master Warden at the end of my second playthrough while playing the part in the final battle where the party that was left behind defends the entrance to Denerim. I was controlling Dog.

Haven't got Blight-queller yet.
