I'm the strongest proponent of keeping the bioware tradition of amazing codex and how rewarding it is to get new entries and read them on your journeys in bioware games.

After playing ME2, I have to admit I really liked the audio codex.

I feel it would be good to include it in secondary entries as well (if financially feasible for Bioware of course).

Also, an option to tuggle sound on and off could solve an opposing view that not all codex should be audio.

Thanks.

I wouldn't mind, although the narrator is a slow reader, I tend to listen to it while I am doing laundry, cleaning my room, etc etc.

OH AND TAKING A **** THAT WOULD BE AWESOME

I actually don't mind having to read secondary codex entries myself, though what I would like to see in addition to the standard codex's is a video codex of races, enemies and other encounters that can be viewed with the standard codex information but only appear after obtaining enough data on those races or enemies (IE kill them enough or talk to them enough) to compile the accumilated knowledge into a vid.

I would definitely be cool with it as long as they could keep Michael Mcconnohie. He does the main entries and just has a great voice for narration.

Well the thing is that there are a LOT of secondary entries, and the voice files for all of those entries would get cumbersome fast. There's also the problem of adding new entries with DLC. They'd have to get the codex guy back or let them be conspicuously silent next to the main ones.

Same, if they can't get him back then don't bother.

I'm in agreement here. The option to turn off the narrator is a good one too. I dislike reading, and especially reading on tvs or computer screens. Hurts my eyes. I love the sound of the narrator's voice and I think it fits perfectly.

This is, of course, assuming it's not too expensive. I was actually a little disappointed with ME1 that there was a division between entries. I wanted all entries to be voiced. Not sure what the difference is between primary and secondary entries besides the fact, that primary are voiced, and secondary are not.

I prefer that not all codex entries are voiced.

I read at a faster rater than the voiceover, so as much as I do like listening to the voiced codex entries, I'm thankful that not all of them are voiced. Otherwise it is going to interfere with my time management and playing time. Posted Image

The Narrator is slow, but its a nice soothing slow. It is enjoyable having a limited number of primary codex's read to me. However all the secondary too... Not so sure.

I think there is a good balance already. Unless there is a toggle then I would say leave it as it has been for the past two games.

I randomly just found out the Codex Narrator was actually Neil Ross and not Michael McConnohie. Which randomly lead me back to this thread. Crazy how the universe works. Someone even went so far as to make a YouTube video of them both speaking, https://youtu.be/4uvYr4-aEuQ.

I like the way the narrator reads slowly, like in a history class or as an audiobook. You can always read it for yourself or use the youtube videos of people reading them. But I would love to have a narrator in the secondary codex, even more than in the primary because they add lots of  important lore information that take time to settle in the mind while the primary is more of a recap that what you hear in conversations.

Edit: Forgot to mention that I preffer the fisrt narrator over the second one in ME2 (seems like a different one to me), it may be weird but his voice is more iconic and represents more the universe to me.

I would love for Primary entries to gain a holovideo and Secondary entries to gain voicing. Especially if we find that Primary entry type material gains so much info since the trilogy that its more helpful to show some of it in visual form - like an entry about Asari.
