Hey Dno,

Do you suppose there is any possibility of BioWare providing as with a new group (For new users and news) where we could collect all these stickies into.  They now outnumber the general posts on the first page.  It wasn't so bad on the old forums since each topic wasn't all that thick a column.  Now my eyes are starting to glaze over trying to find the first general post and I tend to also miss anything new in the stickies.

If they had their own group, any new posts in the stickies would show up on the "Groups" page more prominantly than they currently do.  The Neverwinter site and Dragon Age page has something similar to this although it would also be nice to put all the information for rookie players into that first group.  If it was the first group at the top they would likely jump in there first and check out the FAQs.  I think though it would need to be a group where only moderators could create topics else it would get flooded by general topics pretty quickly.

Any objection to this idea or have additional suggestions.

Do you recall my infamous All In One Stickies back in the Legacy Forum days? I am planning on doing that. I noted the same thing and it bugs the crap out of me that the sticky topics are so numerous. So look for an updated All In One Set of sticky topics related to each major division of interests. Not right away, though soon.

Yeah, a lot of the stickies are very specific. For example in some of the forums (Toolset probably, maybe Custom Content, etc), we could just have a single FAQ sticky, and perhaps one or two others (the useful links/resources ones, maybe).

Cool.  We need to elect a new moderator to help you out and keep you company.  Wonder if Chris would take nominations.

There's a couple very level headed guys I can think of from the modding community.  Not sure they would want the added responsibilities on top of all the design work they're doing.  Too bad Cinabar Din wasn't around any longer.  He always managed to walk the knife edge between crack down and politeness.

Good idea

I'm just brainstorming, if it's not listed its cut, and if i listed something you don't like or if i forgot something i probably just didn't think of it, sorry. I am also thinking this can be the framework for a beginning post with links to each specific thread from the main thread. I am not getting into forums i don't usually go into.

My thought is that there needs to be some organization aimed more at new users, the old timers know where things are, even though i'd like to have links to important threads in a stickied post.

I like it, pain. Anyone else with any more suggestions? This ain't MY community, it's OUR community, so Community Input that's constructive is always welcome unless otherwise explicity stated. (scratches head: and when was that ever done? Hmm.)

The Essential Add-Ons and Haks Thread, for example, is a really great thread, but it's a bit of a mess. If we could tidy it (and perhaps others) up a bit or replace it I think that'd be better. Also on the note of that specific thread, I think we should put a short line explaining the difference between "mods" and "mods", because a lot of people get confused (thanks to differing terminology to other games).

I like Pain's organization. It procedes from the perspective of what the forum user is seeking to accomplish, rather than just what the thread in question happened to form around.
