Least favorite = Vorchas. They have way too many holes for my liking.

They've broken the mold of the machines being the 'bad guys'. They're a very philisophical specie and a specie that is happy to leave others alone. They spend their time trying to improve themselve and spend no time trying to subjegate anyone else, they're even open to peace with the Quarians inspite of their history. My favorite fictional specie of all time.
Least: Quarians. They've spent 300 years feeling sorry for themselves and whining to everyone about how utterly unfair their lot in life is and have done nothing proactive to improve it. Any specie that is only now thinking of colonizing a new planet for themselves rather than hoping to take back their homeworld by force that they don't have is a specie that seems to be bordering on insane.

Least favorite: Tie between vorcha and quarians -- vorcha are too simple minded; something that the evoutionary process should take care of on its own, eventually. Quarians are communistic and cultish. Un-Amurrrrrkan.

Just a side note: Calling the various species 'races' is erroneous. They are species that are as different as a dog and an ant. 'Races' implies varieties within a species, which is not what we are dealing with in ME.

So? The game has misused the term "intergalactic" too.

The codex using incorrect terminology does not magically make that terminology correct.heyimacrab wrote...

Terms and definitions can be contextual though. It's a well known and established trope in fantasy/sci-fi to refer to other species as other "races."
Also, my favorite race would be the asari because they are the most in tune with enlightened philosophy. Least favorite race would be the vorcha.

Fair enough, but its still erroneously using language in order to invoke irrational responses. My favorite Sci-Fi never misused the term.Biotic Sage wrote...

True, "race" carries a lot of baggage over from our real world which can distract from the relevant issue in the fictional world. I choose to ignore that baggage.

Least favorite race is drell. I'm OK with everything about them except for that weird memory-lapse thing they go into. Unless that was just Thane...

Least Favorite: Either the Vorcha or the Volus. Vorcha seem to just be thrown into the universe as space goblins, without any real purpose other than cannon fodder. The Volus used to be cool, like Barla Von, but now they're all corrupt businessmen and the breathing thing is even more annoying than before.

Least Favourite - None I really dislike, but maybe the volus, vorcha and batarians would rank the lowest.

Humans are a bit too marysueshly special for my taste. The Asari suffers from marysueism too, but as they have had to work for millennia to achieve what they have instead of just a few decades they are slightly more believable.

Least: Vorcha, Humans when they're being whiny
