re edit : Ok, I put finally the text

So who is your Champion ?

Describe your character, what were his thoughts, his story, his choice, what they meant. Short or long, as you wish. Simply funny to see your different roleplaying.

Now, one of my last playthough.

Kanna Hawk !

Rogue, soldier, deserter.

Team: Anders ( the first time I let this guy live, but hell, he is the only healer in this game, damn you Bioware, and I'm pro mage in this playthough as well ), Merril, Aveline

Short story. :

Greedy and cunning thief when she was little, her life unstable which is made of adventures of flight and combat, quickly learn her the harshness of life and survival. Bathed in a magical environment  since childhood, she doesn't at all afraid about magic, nor blood magic. Rather, it is useful for her. Much respect for her father which she has always admired the strength and determination, little to her mother that she always found too weak for her taste, not up, Kanna is often rude with her, the rivalry between them is enough strong but there is still love. Carver is her favorite brother, although it always provoked her, she always liked to beat him and give him a beating every time he growls against her. This enabled her to laugh all the time, even when the situation was sad, especially in the moments that followed the fear that the Templars catch them wile they run away. Kanna never liked the Templars who have always forced them to flee, who always forbid them to have true friends around them, and also because her little sister was unhappy, often afraid because of them.

Kanna has grown and learned to fight at the side  of his father, then joined the army among the hunters. Already some campaigns to her credit against the chasinds ( she didn't like that, despite she learned many things ) before serving Cailan to Ostagar after have left a while the army. Only the threat of darkspawn against Lothering forced her to come back again. She decides to desert Ferelden she thought lost. She didn't want to fight for a defeated country anymore. The fate of Ferelden will not be her fate, here's her promise.

Personality : Rude and ruthless, loyal. Capable of futile murder if the mood takes her. Little compassion for human life. Selfish, opportunistic, unconcerned by the fate of others, only her and that of her family. Very protective with Bethany that she doesn't think strong enough, used to see her frightened since childhood even if it may annoy her.

Likes : drinking, adventure, dirty jokes of Isabella, the candor of Merrill, the commitment of Anders. Love flashy things and especially to fly them. When she'll become rich, they will be less interesting to her eyes.

Dislikes : Anders rumbling Merril, the constant complaints of Fenris, her dog when he makes everything dirty in her house. Darkspawn, the deep road, anything that takes her to meet monsters or abominations. Do not like Aveline who monitoring her. while respecting the faith and beliefs in what she believes is right. She dislikes the Templars, who represent the authority in her eyes, and boredom. Only the discipline and beautiful boys there are there are interesting for her .

She has no personal opinion on slavery, and considers the fate of the elves indifferently. She just despise them for their weakness. Kanna doesn't like weakness, she is drawn by force, strong men and strong women. Also, Spiritualism draws her a little, while the years pass.

Act 1: Becomes a thief with Athenril. She just despised the Templars at that time, not really concerned by the mages, don't care Kirkwall, just want to leave Gamlen and the lower town.

Act 2: After the arrest of her sister by templars, she is definitely pro-mage and will be fully committed with Anders. She hates Meredith. Petrice and Andrastian alliance against the giants Qunari , that she perceives a as threat. In her eyes the Qun would be worse than the laws of Chantry for her own freedom. And to threat her freedom, it's dangerous. Plus, the spiritualism which agitates her in contact with Sebastian, Anders ( he is also andrastian ), under the influence of Eltina and convinced by the faith of Petrice, She consider herself to be a part of that world made by the creator. She is Andrastian after a true reflection. She don't like the chantry, but don't want to see Kirkwall converted by the Qun.  She don't believe at att to the peace after spoke with the Arishok, more and more hungry and who despise so much the humans. Naive not to attack them before. She murders the Qunari and join the Alliance with the fanatics. She don't like them, but in the war we do not choose our allies face to a powerful enemy.

Act 3 : The death of her mother is an issue for  her, she doubts, and will become more pragmatic, less absolutist, and finally she will think that blood magic isn't necessarily something to defend or a good thing. Now she will pay more attention to the mages, more cautious, and understands that the Templars  aren't necessarily evil, just misguided. Yes, she is flawled and selfish. It took the death of her mother for questioning herself.

Her commitment to assist the Mages, however, isn't affected, because the situation in Kirkwall has become impossible under the jurisdiction of Meredith. she will save the circle, and her sister. Then she leaves Kirkwall.

It was a good post. I was going to add my own, but I didn't have the time. Granted, most people would have probably just said that Hawke wasn't capable of being roleplayed in such a way.

Personally I think your companions and your Hawke as one unit was the champion in Da2. My Hawke alone wasnt a champion

Not if you were declared Basilit-an by the Arishok and then dueled him.

1- Well, feel free.

Exactly. That's why I thought it was useless.  If most people think that Hawk wasn't really their PC, railroaded, or have many issues with the story, it is indeed difficult. But that's possible  with a little imagination and if you aren't mage. ( imo )

( I tried to imagine with a mage, but there are too defects. I can't explain many things. Or then you must change many things in the story, but it requires too much work. :P

I have my playthough with my pro-templar too. If I have time, I will post.

There.

Your no more railroaded in this game, than any other BW game and for the most part that stuff like your characters past before the start of the game is completely up to you, as it doesn't take place in the game. And the stuff for the acts, you can definitely do, the only thing on there that you cant do, is respond to your party's interaction with each other. Which is something that would be fun to do, but since a lot of its in banter, its not really possible.

I may do one later.
