I know it's not recomended to alter a game etc. etc. but I was wondering how to open the console on a UK Keyboard as the "tilda" key is in a different key on an American/Canadian Keyboard and can only work with shift.
Thanks

When a game includes access to a developers' console, and it's been a bit now since I last had this old game installed on any machine, so between my now less than sharp memory, and no access to verify, I can only say that I don't recall there being such a thing for ME-1.
Nevertheless, the BW games recognize the location, actually, so whatever key sits immediately under the escape key is the correct key, shifted, for DAO certainly.

Technically, typing a '~' with an american keyboard requires the shift key, but in both ME games, I've opened the console by hitting that key (without shift), even though the config files specifically say tilde. Not too sure what that other character (like a reversed apostrophe) is called. Try whatever key combination produces that character.
If that doesn't work, you have a couple of other options. You can tell windows to use a different keyboard layout, or use a third party tool such as xpadder to translate the keystroke of your choice to the tilde character.
