I just bought Dragon Age II and began playing it when all of a sudden it just froze. For a while, i thoought i just hit caps lock or something. I didn't. The game keeps freezing. I got the demo, and finished the whole thing with no trouble. Now, i cant kill 5 bad guys without the game crashing. Help would be really appreciated right now as i have tried everything.

PC Details: I run windows 7, 3gb ram, DirectX11 renderer, ive tried fullscreen an windowed, every single resolution, and im not sure what else there is that can make this work, it took 11 hours to download because my internet is slow (thats probably not the problem(i hope)) so please tell me its not because of that. If any more info is needed, just ask.

Make sure its patched to 1.03.
Make sure graphic drivers are up to date.
Try flipping the game to render in DX9.

Also knowing CPU/Video card information is helpful.

If CPU/Video card meet minimum requirements and you've tried all listed above with still no result chances are you need to re-download the game as the case would be corrupt game data.

What video card are you using? Have you updated the drivers? What's your PC's CPU speed? Have you tried disabling the User Account Control in Windows 7 as this can cause games to crash unexpectedly? Here's an FAQ on how to disable the UAC: http://support.ea.co...detail/a_id/380

Ok... its not patched to 1.03, so how do i do that. Also, I've using DirectX9 and it didnt help, Im not exactly sure what video card i have but im pretty sure its like ATI Mobility Redaun (spelt wrong because I don't know how to find it). I have updated all my drivers, and ive turned off UAC.

Edit: It still doesn't work. I think the patch is going to be necessary. It doesnt matter to me though. Thanks for the tips.

Edit2: Scratch that. 1.03 didn't help at all. What else can i do?

Edit3: I fixed it! It was somewhat strange, but it worked! What i did was uninstalled it, re-updated my drivers, and then, turned UAC on and off again and it worked! thatks for all the advice guys!

You probably have an ATI Mobility Radeon (rade-on) card; sadly this is not helping us to pinpoint the problem. We need to know the exact model.

Here's a guide from youtube on how to find your video card and other stuff.

Although, I strongly suspect tghat it is your videocard...

An actual, discrete, circuit board containing the graphics GPU electronics is an absolute requirement.  If you have none, you will have to get one, either to add to a suitable desktop, or within a replacement laptop, since those cannot accept a graphics upgrade.  There is a sticky describing a useful reporting standard to use when requesting assistance,

By skipping the majority of the information outlined therein as being needed, you leave the members here no way to respond, other than pure WAGs, which just aren't of much value.

      Minimum:
OS: Windows XP 32-bit with SP3
OS: Windows Vista 32-bit with SP2
      OS: Windows 7
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo (or equivalent) running at 1.8 GHz or greater
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 (or equivalent) running at 1.8 GHz or greater
RAM: 1 GB (1.5 GB Vista and Windows 7)
Video: Radeon HD 2600 Pro 256 MB (should be 2600 XT or X1800 GTO)
Video: NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GS 256 MB cards (unless this should be the
           7800 GS instead)
