This has been a very informative read. Has any info surfaced in terms of Arrival cut content, or what the original intent was behind
Billy or the
Ter Alan?

In search of Zaeed Massani, {snip}
Sounds like Korlus was originally going to be quite different. The loyalty mission we ultimately got was ultimately better than what they initially concieved, but it's a shame Zaaed's recruitment mission didn't make the cut. The critical path missions on ME2 are too detached from each other, especially when you look at the critical paths of 1 and (probably) 3.
Some of that detachment could've been alleviated had they retained the recruitment mission, altering it as follows:
In search of Zaeed Massani, Shepard enters a smoky bar in a bad section of Invictus. A thug is demanding protection money from the bartender; Zaeed interjects, and calmly shoots the thug after the resulting alpha dog exchange. Shepard invites Zaeed to join them, and Zaeed is perfectly willing -- if he gets paid 1 million credits up-front. Shepard asks where he's supposed to get that much money. Zaeed tells Shepard about Vido Santiago, the true head of the Blue Suns. The local mob boss is actually one of Vido's money men/underbosses. He suggests stealing it from him. A subtle foreshadowing to LOTSB could've been worked in here, too.
After fighting thugs, gang members, and drug addicts, Shepard uses the Hammerhead to chase the Blue Suns payroll vehicle through the crowded, winding streets. The squad breaks into the "union building" and fights its way to the payroll containers, which are guarded by three powerful mercs. Shepard can threaten, bribe, or kill the underboss to get to the payroll containers open. His credits acquired, Zaeed joins the squadThen, after the other loyalty missions open up, you talk to Zaeed in engineering, and he says:
"You remember Vido? It seems he recently captured an Eldfell-Ashland Refinery and is using the workers for slave labor. The company wants it dealt with."
Then we would be off to The Price of Revenge, with a much stronger setup for it.
Old Kasumi recruitment:
Kasumi revealed that Nava Corp has designed and is about to unleash tailored bio-viruses against the citizens of the Alliance. Only Nava Corp possesses the vaccines. Kasumi needs you to help stop Nava Corp permanently.
{snip}
Now you know why Kasumi was mentioned in the news on Ilium in connection with Nava Corp.
Kasumi's introduction in the finished product was kindof clumsy with that whole advertistement right at the middle of the landing pad, they couldn't have at least picked a secluded location. At the risk of sounding like
smugboy smudboy, there's a big difference between hiding in plain site and "hey, let's have a secret clandestine meeting where everyone can see us and hear us talking." Introducing her on Illium or even a different Citadel location (maybe the boarded up remains of Chora's Den?) would've been a lot smoother, and that Nava Corp mission could've easily tied into the mission with Hock and the graybox.
The Grunt Vs. Mordin Conflict {snip}
It's a shame they cut this. You'd expect more than just two personality conflicts, given the various walks of life the squadmembers come from (for example, Samara=Extreme Paragon and Zaeed=Extreme Renegade, you'd think they'd butt heads).
Omega-4 stub, likely from before they had a level built:
So we got this Reaper IFF. Now what?
Are you sure you want to enter the Omega 4 Relay? No ship has ever returned.
Yes
No
Fade to Black: Sounds of horrible crushing metal and screams.
GAME OVER
This would've been funny if they kept it in. They could've had an achievement related to it called Worst Episode Ever.
Sparky (Pet)
A loyal, tough mechanical dog who'll be your lasting friend and companion.
Do you wish to purchase Sparky?
Well, it looks like we will in ME3.
