I'm having a hard time figuring out how far it is from the Keep to Amaranthine. Anyone have an idea?

I don't know. It can't be too terribly far, as you manage arrive at Amaranthine from Vigil's Keep in time to defend the city (and vice versa if you choose to go back to defend the Keep).
I just wish they had put the scale they were using on the map. {sigh}

I'd say roughly one day. Maybe less. It takes two weeks to travel from Orzammar to the Circle tower because of the mountains. Here we have a couple of hills at worst, the road seems pretty straight otherwise.

It's said during the Redcliffe quest that there's only 1 day's distance between Redcliffe and the Circle Tower. And assuming the dark red path the game draws along the map is the way they take, they take the long way. So unless you're really dragging your feet, and taking a nap along the way, it's not that long.m_k wrote...

It's one day across the lake, it takes more if you take the long way.
