Spell Check works on Firefox, not on Chrome from my experience.

I don't really use Internet Explorer anymore, so I dunno about that one.

Edit: Oh, and on Firefox, I need to toggle "BBCode" to grey the buttons, for Spell Check to work.

Back to topic, folks. We have little time before this becomes another "TIM's great!/No he's not!" rehash.

Yes, I must admit that my chief objection to indoctrination is because that would be, well, lame.

I knew that. I'm a grammar SS agent, sorry.

I honestly don't know of a serious reason for Cerberus to be killing Shep. Even though I don't like them, I think the indoctrination thing is an insult to TIM and Cerberus.

Agreed, and months to go before we find out for sure. The writers at BioWare must be eathing this up with a spoon.

"That can't be right."

Why?

"EDI doesn't make mistakes."

My biggest problem is that indoctrination is way overused in the series, Arrival being the best example.  It could explain TIM but not all of Cerberus.  In addition it would be such an obvious twist that any halfbaked writer could think up.

I read the first line in Miranda's voice before I even saw the rest of the quote. Oh yeah.

You don't have to be made into a cyborg to be indoctrinated. Benezia was indoctrinated and she didn't have mechanical parts.

I'll deal with this one, cause you don't want a text lashing from marshalleck.

TIM isn't "evil" he is cold, callous, ruthless, and a smelly douchebag.

But he means well for humanity, even though at times ( messing with Jacks head...bastard.) it doesn't really seem like it he does what he does for humanity.

Also just so you know, I will let Jack fillet him alive if the opportunity presents itself, I'm not defending TIM, but you can't go around throwing words like "evil" all willy nilly.

Well, evil people nearly always think their actions are for the good. They're convinced of it. In fact, the most infamous names throughout human history were all 100% convinced that they were doing what was best for humanity. That, too me, is what makes TIM such a great character; he actually says it repeatedly, he's out for humanity's best interests and is convinced that end justifies any means. It's twisted and evil. That's what evil is in reality. "Dr. Evil" doesn't really exist, and sociopathic cases, where people kill or harm because they derive pleasure from it, typically don't rise beyond interpersonal levels. The great evils that have befallen large swathes of humanity, or humanity in general, have been done by people who were certain they were doing what was best, for the greatest good.

Maybe TIM manage to understand enough about reaper tech to start indoctrinating people to follow and obey Cerberus. It would be the kind of tactic that any version of Shepard would disagree with. But even i have a hard time believing this explanation.

That's true, AClockworkMelon, but she didn't have funky eyes, either.

Indoctrination comes in more than one flavor. In the books and comics, is a lot like Reapers "assuming direct control" and greatly enhancing physical, biotic and sensory capabilities.

To keep thing clear, I'll use more precise terms than the books, comics or games use themselves.

Indoctrination -- the victim appears normal, but is under the Reapers' sway. If it goes on long and far enough, the victim becomes incapable of independent thought or action.

Implantation, or simply implants -- Like Saren or in the case of the Reaper artifact in the comic that introduces Jack Harper, the Illusive man, this drastically enhances or imparts powers such as biotics and rapid healing, but drastically alters the victim's physiology, turning it into a cyborg -- organic and machine.

Huskification-- turned into an unthinking weapon.

Repurposing-- Turning the victims into an unthinking weapon AND tool, like the Protheans being made into Collectors, that can be taken over directly by a Reaper when desired.

The mysterious "a poster from another thread" is here.
Let's see what we know:Mr Illusive will have a more prominent role than anytime before in the series.
We will find out where his base is.
The cool glowing background is a clue for us. (meaning we can find it out)
Everything would be much simpler with the Normandy intact. But Damned Alliance probably took away Kasumi's bar and the direct link to TIM. Actually I'm amazed that EDI was left in. Restoring Shepard's bad publicity makes sense, but I dount that it is that simple. Searching
for the control room for the Reapers would work well in my opinion, because idestroying that thing could win us the ar. And it's not lik ewe ahve 3 fleets for each repaer. That would take like 3 million fleets

My initial guess was that The Illusive Man was trying to kill Shepard because he learned why the Reapers need Shepard's body and he proves to be more of a liability through researching the Collector Base or it's remains. Therefore, TIM decides that it's for the best to eliminate Shepard.

After reading many of the post, I got to thinking , being hit by the Reaper tech , gave the other turains and Ben strength and insight, TIM didn't get the full effect but it did give him something , maybe it was visions or whispers of events place or things ,maybe knowing these things promotes his actions, for example since ME1 its been referred that Shep is special we see that with the prothean beam hits him , "a lesser mind would not have been able to take it",
In the field of combat he/she is unbeatable, harbinger states it thur out the game get Shep, TIM states it , he/she has bested them, your unique , Arrival Shep is unable to stay sedated or indoctrinated, something with Shep makes him/her different from others , maybe TIM saw this as in a vision, but now fast forward ME3 , maybe its a new motivation a new vision that shows what Shep is doing as a threat to humanity, so he tries to detour that now by taking Shep out , just like in ME2 to detour things he brings Shep back .
Something is different or wondrous about Shep that makes both Cerberus and Reapers want him but its just a theory . . .

I can just see it now....
Shepard: Illusive Man, what did you put in me while you were bringing me back to life? A bomb? It figures with you and your organization's penchant for things blowing up in your face.
