I don't recall having a goal of stoping the Collectors that was his goal.

He suspected [correctly] that they were involved with the Reapers.
Stopping the Reapers is your goal.

I didn't even know what a Collector was until Freedom's Progress. Of course after finding out what they were doing I had to stop them. I couldn't just let them continue to take people and TIM knew that. So therefore I was in his pocket the rest of the game.

So? He wanted to stop the Reapers/Collectors and so did you.
So you both used one another and achieved this common goal.

That's what allies do

That being said our goals are very different. I want to stop the Reapers and save the universe. TIM on the other hand wants to dominate the universe by any means.

Allies need not agree on everything.

Stopping the Collectors has done nothing to stop the Reapers. In ME3 they have arrived and in full force. If anything I have giving TIM more Reaper tech to use against the universe.

TiM has hots for Miranda, he's been grooming her since was child and now Shepard has taken her away and bonked her. TiM is angry.

Nah, Shepard is the one dealing with TIM's sloppy seconds. TIM has no doubt boinked Miranda, Gabby,Kelly,Chakwas and probably even Hannah Shepard.

That's the biggest reason I never romanced Miranda, she has horrible taste in men.

And it takes the one decent man she meets to turn her,but I can't get over her poor judgement.

And the way she says idea.

And Gabby has more sense then to go anywhere near TIM,she doesn't want scale-itch.

TIM must of realised how valuable sheps body is to the Reapers? Sheps body in trade for the safety of a few human colonies?

There is the chance that TIM is indoctrinated by the reapers, (signified by the glowing eyes) and that's why he turns on Shepard, regardless of what you decided to do with the collector base.

Personally, that would be the preferable reason to me.

Someone posted a twet yesterday, one of the devs said TIM and Cerberus aren't exactly after you just that TIM and Shepard aren't seeing eye-to-eye

There is too many fanatics and...people for the lack of a better word like Sebo who would litterally die IRL if it was as simple as indoctrination.

In that video Casey Hudson says at 3:10 "In Mass Effect 3 the Reapers are actually working with Cerberus." You have Reapers and Cerberus agents side-by-side attacking Earth and its defenders. Anyone who still sees TIM as a good guy at this point is deluded. I suppose you could say he's a "good guy" in the same sense as Saren was, which is to say not at all. The only alternative explanation is that TIM is no longer in control of his organization.

Cerberus, but not neccessarily TIM. Untill we KNOW that TIM is Shepard's enemy, the alternative explanation is as good if not better than the theory that TIM is Shepard's enemy, given that the only evidence for this is that TIM is in charge of Cerberus in ME2.

I for one hope TIM is still an ally.

Well I feel that TIM was never an ally  and also in the video at 3:45 Casey says "The Illusive Man is behind all the stuff Cerberus is doing."

I like how people ignore the second half of your post. TIM's been playing Shepard for a sucker since the beginning. He brought back Shepard so that he could use him. It would be like me taking my car to the shop to get repaired.

And? Hackett,Udina and Anderson were using Shepard to advance human interests by trying to make him/her a Spectre in ME1.

This is true but there is a difference between wanting to advance human interests to be seen as peers in the galactic community. TIM wants to dominate.

The whole council apparatus is designed to enforce the Turian,Asari and Salarian triumvirate's dominance over the galaxy. They have no moral high ground over any human dominance.

Problem is, no one knows what TIM's vision of human dominance is.

And don't spew your vision of it,you haven't the feintest idea what his vision is.

Tbh, I imagine TIM would be the kind of guy to work under the guise of 'all my efforts are in favour of humanity and our dominance in the galaxy' when he'd more than likely want this so that he could control humanity himself. And once that were done, and humans were in control, in essence, he'd control everything. But that's just me.

I secretly hope that TIM is really a good guy and will surprise us by doing something incredibly heroic and non-evil to save humanity in the end. You know, like an unsung hero that everybody hated alive and loves dead.

TIM works with logic, not emotion. And when the galaxy is under threat from a race of sentient machines ready to destroy every organic being, he is willing to commit atrocities. I fully expect to make choices similiar to keeping David in the machine, but his motives are good. So yeah he will be seen as a villain during the game.

TIM probably has an ace up his sleeve, but he's not ready to reveal it yet. First, he wants every other race to feel the sting of the Reapers. Maybe that's what Shep and TIM aren't seeing eye-to-eye with.

Or just idiotic! I mean seriously after finding out that the Reapers are working with Cerberus in ME3 people are still trying to claim that the Illusive Man is some kind of misunderstood good guy. I mean, really?!?

I believe TIM is indoctrinated. As it was said here, he knew about everything from the start and he wasn't telling us the truth. I think he wanted Collectors' Base to make humans new collectors. Harbinger said in Arrival that human race drew Reapers' attention, so maybe they want to enslave humans like protheans and existing Collectors' Base would make it easier?

TIM is a good guy. The real villain here is the evil wizard Mac Walters.
