 Good golly, I think this thread could be... "entertaining", or "emotional", depending on the responses.  What the title says though.

Personally, I'd want one of two ways.

Either Shep doing something that will destroy the Reapers, and himself, along with his LI and another, close ally in a heartfelt moment where they support him as he does (insert Deus Ex Machina here).  They put hands on his shoulder as he presses a button, or they stand by him as he flies the Normandy as a javelin into the "command" reaper, whatever.  Just a moment, where Shepard knows they are going to die, but his allies silently remind him, it's worth it.  It's to save the galaxy.

Or Shepard does the same, but alone, in defiance to (insert main Reaper here) and says "I should go." BOOOOOOM.


All while "From the Wreckage" plays from ME 1--

Sheploo can't die. He's got Garrus with him. and everyone knows that when death came to give Garrus a visit, Garrus replied "Can it wait for a bit? I'm in the middle of some calibrations.". Death was never heard from again..

I'm probably the only one who thinks that this would be awesome, but whatever -- Shepard should die in the final battle against the Reapers (the battle for Earth perhaps?), but not in any sort of super-heroic move. The battle is going to be long, brutal, and bloody, and there will be a lot of casualties. Shepard should just happen to be one of those casualties.
The game should end with someone important (perhaps the VS, Anderson, or Shepard's LI?) calling desperately over the radio, "Shepard? Shepard!" as the camera slowly zooms out and you see Shepard's body amidst all the others.
That would be epic.

Shepard will die out of boredom after defeating the Reaper invasion as he destroys the main reaper in single combat. After that all the other Reapers heads just explode because they see Garrus Vakarian's awesomness when he shows up to tell Shepard that he's not bad for a rookie.

Dieing of old age would be the preferred way to go for my Shep. After the fight with the Reapers Shep will "disappear himself" and see if he can fall off the grid.

As far as dieing in-game I think some kind of "spite" level ending would be cool where he triggers one or more mass relays to self-destruct.

I just want it to be some kind of heroic sacrifice. Maybe something like new Star Trek (crashing into a Reaper with Normandy),and yes I know it's a huge cliche,but still.

After big Fight in the Cerberus HQ, Shepard lost all his weapons...and comes into the final Room of Tim.
Shepard: "Tali, go and look the Door... the others hold the Line in front. "
Jacob: "Commander...this is suicide, you even have no waepon...take mine"
Shepard:" All i need is Garrus...so old friend with me you´ll snipe out those sad Bastard"
Tali: "You can count on me, becarful Shepard...keela se lei"

Shep walks through the Scanner only he can pass becourse of the lazerus ID code...Garrus Hold his sniper ready to fire in a long shoot... over 500m open room in dark.
Garrus: "Oh damn...its...Mm...will work...but only on 98% "
Shep stands infront of Tim, Tim stands up
Tim: "impressiv, even a mean known as deadly as you, i would´nd have exspect entering my room"
Shep: "Stop that Bull****! I know you work for the reapers!"
Tim: "Work for the reapers? *laugh* Not at all the Reapers are working for me! Sadly you have picked the wrong side, Shepard. Imagine we could controll the univiers...but now i have to kill u but thats the price" pull out a Gun and aim on Shepards Head "How dare you´ll come too me with out any weapon...i thougt you are a little more...armed"
Shep: "I have the powerfulls Weapon you never got!"
TIM: "Mmm?"
Shep: "I have friends...GARRUS NOW!"
Garrus: "Can it wait for a bit? I'm in the middle of some calibrations"
TIM:"...nice try" shot Shep in Head

(dieing should only be a paragon option, by the way)
ok, so they charge and shoot and biotic and tech out through swarms of mini Reapers and husks and canabals etc. while final assult or very dangorus place is playing on  music then they get to this place that leads directly into the core of the reaper, while everyone is arguing about who should go in and shoot the nuke into the core which will kill whover shoots it while the others get out alive when shepard stands up and does this speach...

Shepard: Stop arguing! I am going in and blasting this thing to hell!
Lawson: Shepard, no you can't, you just cant. We have all been bonded through truama, and losing you would be unbearable to any of us.
Jack: For once I agree with the cheerleader.
Shepard: I can't let any of you do this, and you know that, I would keep on thinking that I did the wrong thing.
Mordin: So would we.
Shepard. The univerese could not stand the lose of any of you, but it will on me cause it's done it before.
LI: Shepard, no dont! Please! I could not stand it! you musn't
Jason Sanders: Shepard, I volunteer, I have not none you much since now, and it would be my honor.
Shepard: I cant let any of you do this. when I go in there the last things I will think about are all of you, My thoughts and in my heart I will be doing this for everyone here and for our exstince, but mostly all of you. today is the day that we win.
Kasumi wipes the tears from under her eyes: Alright shepard, do your stuff.
Shepard: I will think of all of you in Hevan.
Jack: The aethiest who died in the foxhole.
LI: punches jack if Jack is not LI.

Shepard runs to the core of the reaper with the good times flashing through his/her companions and fire the nuke while the last run is playing. In the normandy they squadies look  as the reaper is destroyed (through the reckage plays) LI crys, Jason sanders gives if a her a hug and says that everything will be alright.

That is how I think shepard should die, around those lines, and out of character for this post, I think there should be a paragon, Renegade decion that you either save TIM(R, but it makes fighting a bit easier with his resources)
Or AH (P, because he is a good guy after all.

Hmmm,

This occurs little more than 3/4ths through the game. Shepard has been under extensive indoctrination since his initial exposure to the Prothean artifact in ME.

But although the indoctrination hasn't affected Shepard's actions yet--it has caused him to experience intense hallucinations, and severe visions of either the real reason why the Reapers are attacking,( which may be not as blindly malicious as we previously thought, ) or visions of another mysterious nature. He is later rescued by his crew after being captured by the Reapers.  

Being so stunned by what he/she had seen, Shepard whispers horrified, "The horror.....the horror....." and dies. Leaving the rest of the crew to rally the groups of races that had been compiled to defeat the Reapers.

Renegade Max - LI dies, Shepard is never seen again.

Paragon - Shepard dies, the rest live.  LI assumes control of Normandy
Renegade - Shepard sacrifices team to win.

Well i guess if my Shepard DOES have to die in some way, it would probably have to be by sacrificing himself to stop the reapers from annihilating everything. Hopefully Shepard would be able to nuke whatever it is that powers up their shields, all the while caught in the midst of Harbinger trying to stop him, and ultimately destroying him while giving all the fleets of every civilization the golden opportunity to launch one final assault to take back the earth.

Walking away from the Illusive Man's corpse with blood spattered across her face, his final words echoing through her mind. Had she truly damned them all? Had she destroyed one of their last chances of fighting against stacked odds?
One look at the pool of garnet spreading from the head of the man who damned her fifty teammates on Akuze.
No answer came to her.
Matters not, she shrugged, she would find a solution her own way. Not his.

Through the haze of red, she could still see stars in the distance. Blazing red, orange and white streaks arced and faded. Could there have been a better way, she wondered, wincing as she lurched toward a glitching holoscreen.
No, no regrets.
She slams down on a flickering trigger, launching the final phase of the plan. It will work, she knew.
She just would not live to see it at the end.
But that's ok, it's enough to know the rest of her team will do their part as she has finished hers. She slides down the console, leaving smears of her life behind. It's too late, she's lost too much blood.
But that's ok, it's all-
