I've never seen that clip before! lmvao! "Ignorant, cave-dwelling heathens" sounds like he's been to one of my family reunions.

Okay, so we know that the proganonist is going to be a human... so Cullen, if he is romanceable, will be loved up by a human for certain. But if the protagonist wasn't definitely human, how do you think Cullen would feel about being involved with an elf or a dwarf?

(I think we can all guess doc moto's response...) ;)

Hmm, don't really imagine him having an issue with an elf since he did have a crush on Surana previously, yes? Dwarf... hmm. I think there's an Oghren banter during Broken Circle that I seem to recall didn't sound particularly, um, pro-dwarf, but I'd have to look it up. But, the right girl/guy can change anything, right?

EDIT: LMVAO Yup, I think a dwarf LI would have an uphill battle. Apparently they are "ignorant, cave-dwelling heathens."

That.is.Awesome!!! Image IPB

I was actually just going to say that I think if Cullen sat down and thought about it, he'd be horrified to think that his beloved wasn't actually a work of the Maker's!  I wonder if that's an attitude typical of radical Andrastianism, or if the poor guy was just under a lot of duress and lashed out?

I love Oghren's response - "Ignorant, cave-dwelling heathen? Hmm. We must have met before." :D classic!

Maybe it's because the dwarves don't normally subscribe to the Chantry beliefs? That one lone Chantry dude down in Orzamar was a pariah, wasn't he?

Yep. Bit of a weirdo amonst dwarves. Wonder how he came to believe in Andraste, anyway? If he'd been to the surface, he wouldn't be allowed back into Orzammar unless he was just one of those guards by the door. Weeeiiiiird.

I bet Cullen would have some conflicting feelings about being with an elf too. Not that it would ruin it for him, but maybe make him go "huh. That's not what mom was always hoping for." Especially if that elf were a non-Andrastian. Big problems there.

Think he'd try to convert her or do you think he'd be groovy enough to let her have her own beliefs?

You know, I can't help but compare him to Sebastian in that way. Seb seems awfully open to others' faiths as he tried to fit them all into a comprehensive world model for himself. And, he was a brother! On the other hand, Cullen seems much more rigid than reformed-rake Sebastian. I could see him saying some very offensive (and patronizing!)  things at first, like, "once your really think about, you'll realize that the only true creator could have been the Maker." *pats on head*  But, if you force him to confront his prejudices he would start to come around. I mean, he was wondering about Andraste's virginity at one point in DA:O, right? Don't think he learned that at Sunday school...

I think he'd try to convert her. Definitely.

Wasn't there some kind of banter with Sebastian where he said everyone was essentially worshipping the Maker, but just calling him something different? I don't think Cullen would see it that way. But I think it'd be genuine concern. If he cared about you, he'd want to know that you'd be with him at the Maker's side one day. He might be genuinely wrong, but he'd still be genuine.

I could see that being a pretty big crisis for him, actually. If the devs wanted to write it.... but when it comes down to gameplay, that'd probably end up being a very minor part of his content.

Christ Priestly said the following, regarding DA3 possible Fall release:

"And Fall is a best guess at the moment. The game has been in the works since the end of DA2, and things are going well, but it will take as long as it needs to. Fall next year (sometime between Sept & Dec) is a good guess, but it could be longer if it needs it."

Agree so much. Sebastian is more mature and worldly than Cullen. He's seen and lived the other side. Cullen is stubborn and easily confused and annoyed lol Cullen doesn't like it when people don't obey rules or even when they question rules. So someone who is inherently different might stump him, make him uncomfortable.

But ofc true love conquers all

While I am insanely happy they are taking their time with this game, I'd be lying if I said this statement didn't make me cringe a bit. Damn my impatience! My main hope is that there wont be any story leaks, ala ME 3. I know I'll have to look at them despite my better judgement.

Yeah, that's all I heard in there about it, too. Hmm. No idea where that dude found the info. Heh, I suppose I could... ask. :pinched::lol:

Ah, worldly. Yes, this. Cullen has probably dealt with dwarves in his capacity as Knight-Captain, certainly more so than when he was sequestered in Kinloch Hold, but he probably would think of them as heathens and would never have discussed religion with one.

I like the notion that such different ideas would make him uncomfortable. If it were someone he cared about, though, I think he'd make a (painful) effort to understand. I could see him constantly offending him/her, but then he would go away to think and then come back with some new way to try to understand their perspective (and then offend him/her again!). I could totally imagine a series of scenes where he literally has to iterate to final way of confronting the difference.

Lola - I don't see him pontificating about it, though. I would imagine it would only come up in context...like, he admits that he's worried about your safety and confesses that he's concerned about what will happen to you when you die... and that you'd be burning in the Void or whatever, like the heathen sinner that you are. LOL

The problem with Cullen, is that he seems to make assumptions based on what he's seen, heard or read about said person/situation/etc. I  mean, really he's had very little life experience beyond the Chantry/Templars so he's only really basing his opnions (on non-Templar/Chantry related issues) solely on heresay and rumor. I think once he gets himself out into the real world (as a companion/LI hopefully) then a lot of his opinions and assumptions would change drastically.

As I have said before, we will not be discussing DA3 until, likely, spring next year. There won't be teasers or other info until Mark Darrah & the team are ready to open the gates and actually start talking about the game. Sorry.

"Likely" but not "definitely", he's got loads of stuff wrong in the past. I think it's all down to when Mark Darrah feels it's ready to realise proper info. We could still get some sort of teaser trailer at the VGA's though, something that doesn't give much/anything away.

Are there any events happening in Spring?

I see such funny conversations in his future because of this.
C: "But the Chant says that humans are the Maker's second children... he doesn't say "men and elves"!

PC: "Well, then where do elves come from then, hmm? Tell me that? Did we spring from the ground fully formed? We were grown in the pumpkin patch?"

C: Obviously not... they...

PC: ... Yes?

C: They... um...

PC: Cullen, are we going to have to cover where elven babies come from, too?

C: ... *leaves, red faced and muttering*

Hm, maybe that'll be when we get the CGI trailer then? I know with DA2 it with shown at the VGA's, but they seem to be doing things differently this time.

... I do wonder if there will be some kind of leak though. There seems to be have been at least one with every game in recent years lol.
