LOL That could be. It was actually kinda nice to be reminded of the big brother crazy threads around here,
Anders, et al. That we're not the only passionate fanbase. Of course... it seems like Cullen is just the new whipping boy since there's a better chance of him being in DA3 than say, a mostly dead dude like Anders. Or sorta dead dude like, *sob* Nate.
You could just say that he stands a better chance than characters who have resolved their story arcs in other games.
Alistair: Too complicated. He could be king, he could be a wandering drunk, he could be dead. In every scenario where he isn't king, we know how the story ended.
Anders: No matter what you did to him in DA2, his story is over. I love the character, but I don't need to see him (and Hawke) in DA3 to know that they're off doing mad, revolutionary things together.
Nathaniel: He's off doing Warden things. If the stuff they were doing in the Deep Roads is relevant to the plot of DA3, we very well may see him again, but even then, there's a chance he could be dead. I don't think they'll be bringing anyone back from the grave this time around.
Fenris: Like Anders, his story is over. Depending on your Hawke, they may be off producing babies somewhere or otherwise living happily ever after, but there aren't a lot of ways I could see working him into an Inquisition. Unless he wound up back in Tevinter somehow and we go there, but that's a lot of maybes.
Varric: We'll probably have to see how the comics go, but I have a hard time placing him in Orlais. He knows how to work the game in Kirkwall, but Kirkwall isn't Orlais. I'm not sure he knows how to solve those problems through the tactical use of applied force.
Sebastian: His story was definitely left up in the air, and his ties to the Chantry make him a likely candidate for reappearance. If he does show up again, I really hope that he keeps the assertiveness he gained in his last 5 minutes in the DA2 party. I liked him a lot better when he was ranting at Hawke for sparing Anders than I did when he was being agreeable. Sorry, R2, but I can imagine him more easily in an adversarial role than I can as a follower.
Carver: Maker, how I loved Carver. I would give *anything* to see how he turned out as his own man, out from under Hawke's shadow, but sadly, I don't think I'll get my wish. He probably survived on less than a third of the playthroughs, and even when he did survive, he could be a templar or he could be a Warden.
And the list goes on.
