I'm not familiar with that line in ME, but in this case with Cullen it isn't so much a change in tone like that sounds (although Lola, I bet you're right that the VO recordings don't always fit together.).

In this case, I had remembered Cullen being super hardline in the scene, and he wasn't. To me it seemed more like, "OK Hawke you don't trust this Mage Alain. Believe me *I* understand. Ok arrest him. OH you think we should actually KILL all The mages and templars? Hmm. I see well... Thats not what I would've done, but I see why Meredith likes you.."

So it seems I was just remembering his "don't trust mages" line, not the "kill em all" lines, since he doesn't really seem down with the killing. :shrug: but for all the reasons you've all mentioned, we probably shouldn't read too much into tone, either way.

I'm actually doing a pro-templar playthrough and I'm in Act 3 so I'll save prior to doing that quest and test out all the different dialogue, then report back lol.

Plot bunny nibbling at my fingertips at this discussion... since I've always loved Alain (if we are constantly harassed about expressing why we love Cullen, imagine how people would react if I admitted how much I love a character that is barely in the game at all lol) and I do love Cullen, and they do theoretically come into contact with one another, that generally is enough to spark a pairing in my brain. So imagine Cullen has feelings for Alain, but then it is suggested by Hawke that Alain "and the others" be killed, and Cullen wrestles with his feelings but brings the suggestion to Meredith, who agrees... WHAT DOES HE DO? *dramz* If this wouldn't turn out to be a 30 chapter sappy romantic epic, I would probably actually try writing this.

Dragon's Dogma's on my xmas list. I hope someone gets it for me ... or I hope I don't succumb to temptation and buy it on Black Friday....

I saw that today (I have been thinking of getting the game and was watching "let's play"s) isn't she blonde and short and has small buds on her chest? It seems so wrong..

I had the game, but my copy was so glitched and buggy that I gave up on it in the end. It kept deleting my save game, so I'd start another and then the old game would come back and overwrite it, but delete all the quests I'd done prior.

The one that you babysit and play games with?  I never got to finish that game because my save file became corrupted.

I've no idea, it always broke on me as soon as I hit the first city.

The leak was from a marketing feedback survey so those characters are probably solid, but they could very well be no more than possibilities.

I'm well aware that survey is a source of speculation, but I'd caution anyone from assuming those characters are more than possibilities-- as you yourself point out-- or that they're even intended to be party followers. Doing so is setting yourself up for disappointment, I guarantee it.

As for the OP, as mentioned by others there's likely to be no real information on the game until the spring. Keep in mind that DA2 was announced at the same time its marketing campaign started-- as opposed to DAO which had roughly a three-year gap inbetween. So there is no consistency at work, here.

Be quite disappointed because I really do crush on the boy, and coming to this thread and hearing that GE was back in the studio made me dream of something I didn't think was possible to dream... okay this is getting a bit ridiculous No seriously, be very disappointed, but after a few days, be resigned and suddenly VERY CURIOUS about who the male LIs will be, and what sort of PC I'll make to romance them.
