Agree. I don't know how many women were on the development team for TR, but I recall the one of the official responses came from one of their female producers when they tried to smooth it over. Coincidence that they chose her? I don't recall when the game comes out, or if taken in the context of the whole game, the scene plays better, but I think what disturbed me the most was that the folks presenting the clip seemed to be promoting the rape interpretation.charlottecorday wrote...

I thought of that too. Their arguments that she "needed to be hardened by life experiences" and those creepy fans that said they really wanted to see her raped. I think that incident said a lot about sexism in game development and the community at large, not to mention highlights the necessity of feminine input and experiences that Gaider was talking about.
Ugh. On a cheerier note, I read a cool article recently about a coder dad who hacked his old Legend of Zelda game and turned Link into a girl for his daughter to play it.
